The State of the Union address last night gives hope for our educational system. And it is soooo d… needed!!
I want to share a little story with you:
We were invited to exhibit our new Obama Poster at the West Las Vegas Art Center for the Kwanzaa event in December.
Of course we talked to everybody about our BlackSperity™ concept. The Poster shows President Obama’s Profile and MLK’s Spirit in the background. The poster is filled with historical, and educational text about the President’s life development from ‘68 to ’08.
An 11 year old girl and her father stopped by and I ask her who she sees on the poster. Her answer: “I don’t know” ! She did not know even her father asked here again and again with hints and help… she did not know. I asked more kids her age, and only about 60% knew our President.
WOW!
So again we are taking action and want to bring this educational poster to every single student. We are in contact with the school district , but no action yet!!
