Healthcare leadership today is stretched thin.

As CEO Carrillo often says, “Too many leaders are forced to live in survival mode.” With Medicaid cuts looming, some teams keep doing things the same way—because that’s how it’s always been done. Others are pushing to innovate and think bigger.

The most successful centers find balance: respecting experience while embracing new ideas. And they recognize they can’t do it all alone.

At Alcar Health, Alex and our team bring vetted partners who help reduce costs, improve care, and create new revenue—without piling more burden on already overworked staff.

We’re not here to fix everything. We’re here to move things forward.

Your contact center holds more answers than most organizations realize—the challenge is knowing where to look.

Too often the focus stays on surface metrics: call volume, abandon rates, average wait times. What gets overlooked are the deeper insights that truly shape strategy:
Did the patient actually get what they needed?

What was the tone of the call?

What issues are patients bringing up most often?

As our CTO/COO Robert Cuadra highlights, AI can now analyze this in real time—revealing critical patterns about patient populations and organizational performance. The payoff is clear: better patient retention, stronger value-based care, and increased revenue.

A contact center isn’t just a cost center. It’s an untapped engine for strategy and growth.

Most health tech in the FQHC space doesn’t fail because it’s poorly designed. It fails because it doesn’t fit.
❌ It doesn’t speak the language of the community.
❌ It doesn’t align with the workflows of the care team.
❌ It becomes a burden to staff instead of a blessing.
As Carrillo often reminds our team, a great pitch deck doesn’t guarantee great outcomes in the real world. If technology creates friction instead of flow, adoption collapses—and patients feel the impact.
At Health, we flip the script. We start with the FQHC in mind—the people, the culture, the systems, the workflows—and then we make the technology fit you. Not the other way around.
Because the best health tech isn’t just innovative. It’s invisible. It works seamlessly in the background so staff can focus on what matters most: caring for patients.

Working at a federally qualified health center changed the way I show up at Alcar Health.

I wasn’t just managing programs, I was building them from the ground up. Behavioral, community and population health. And I saw the daily reality of what it takes to serve patients with limited resources and unlimited needs.

I lived the complexity. Medicaid. Medicare. Sliding fee scales. You name it! And the weight that FQHCs carry to care for everyone who walks through the door.

Now I bring that experience to every strategy and every solution we offer.
Because I’ve been in your shoes.

When I was 17, I realized for the first time that I was poor.
Up until then, I had not noticed because everyone around me was in the same situation. But once I saw it clearly, I made a decision: I never wanted to be poor again.
Entrepreneurship became my path, not by choice, but by necessity. I needed a way to make money and move forward without relying on college because I knew my family could not afford it. I was not an athlete, so a scholarship was not an option. I had to figure it out on my own.
That journey led me into network marketing, where I found my first mentors. It became the launchpad for a lifetime of entrepreneurship. In fact, the last time I had a traditional job and filled out a W-2 form was at 17. It has not been easy, but I have never looked back.
Years later, someone called me and asked if I could help with their health insurance agency. At the time, I did not even have health insurance myself. But I knew how to sell, how to use technology, and how to recruit, skills I had built over the years.
That opportunity pulled me into healthcare. Once I saw both the challenges and the chance to make a real difference while building a good living, I knew I had found my place.

Think twice yearly redeterminations are no big deal? Think again!

Under HR1, Medicaid now requires income and household verification twice each year instead of once. This will create challenges for state Medicaid offices, who must build the technology and workflows, and for health centers, who risk losing patients and revenue when coverage lapses.

Alcar Health is ready to help. With call center augmentation and advisory support, we guide health centers through the process and help patients stay enrolled.

This is not just about compliance. It is about protecting patients and sustaining access to care.

Front desks buried in voicemails. Patients stuck on hold. Burnout building. We hear it from FQHCs every week.
As our CEO, Alex Carrillo, often says: people think we’re just a call center. But that’s only 5% of what we do.
The bigger impact? Fixing what’s behind the calls:
Long wait times

Missed Medicare appointments

Behavioral health bottlenecks

Staff burnout

Yes, we improve contact center performance. But we also embed bilingual staff, scale outreach, and stay through implementation so nothing gets dropped.
We’re not here just to answer phones—we’re here to help your whole system work better.

Medicaid is changing — are you ready?
The recently passed HR1 (One Big Beautiful Bill Act) will transform the Medicaid program in ways that could directly affect your patients and your revenue.
👉 Two big changes for health centers:
• Work requirements & redeterminations twice a year
• Starting December 2026, patients must prove 80 hours of work per month and document it
Estimates suggest up to 2 million FQHC patients could lose coverage. The impact on health centers will be enormous.
What should health centers do now?
✔️ Analyze who is currently enrolled in Medicaid
✔️ Explore opportunities to enroll newly eligible members
✔️ Launch retention campaigns to help patients stay compliant
📌 At Alcar Health, we’re working with partners like Joe Rivera to help health centers prepare for these changes. Preparation today will protect your patients and sustain your revenue.

Here is what real vendor partnership looks like:
✅ Shared accountability for results, not excuses
✅ Integrating into your EHR without disrupting staff workflows
✅ Aligning with your culture so patients feel cared for, not outsourced
✅ Staying in touch, adapting, and improving over time

When vendors fail on these, FQHCs pay the price — with frustrated staff, disengaged patients, and missed opportunities for growth.

Your mission deserves more. It deserves a partner who is committed to walking with you, not just selling to you.

At Alcar Health, we believe true partnership means standing shoulder to shoulder with your team, solving problems together, and keeping the focus where it belongs: delivering better care to your community.

Too many vendors disappear after the ink is dry on the contract. The promises fade, the emails slow down, and your team is left to figure things out alone.

That is not a partnership. That is a transaction.

At Alcar Health, we believe FQHCs deserve more. Real growth and patient impact come from ongoing support, continuous improvement, and a network that adapts to your needs.

We stay engaged, actively supporting your center, sharing insights, and connecting you with vetted partners who can add value where it matters most.

Because serving communities is not a one-time effort. It is a long-term commitment. And that’s the commitment we bring.
