Traffic cameras are officially coming to Las Vegas 😣

The Las Vegas City Council approved a pilot program installing cameras at 12 intersections across the valley. Officials say the cameras will monitor:
• Speeding
• Red light violations
• Vehicle classifications
• Traffic patterns

According to FOX5 and the City of Las Vegas, the system will be used for a one-year traffic study.

The company involved in the project reportedly uses advanced traffic analytics technology and AI-powered systems. Officials currently say:
• No driver identities are being stored
• No license plate data is being collected
• Data will reportedly be deleted after the study

Boulder City denied the data center project… for now.

But just like we saw with NV Energy and the PUCN, denied doesn’t always mean dead… These projects can come back, get revised, appealed, and eventually approved.

Even the casinos have cut ties with NV Energy…

It surprised me to find out they don’t even own their solar panels either

Because all the major casinos signed Power Purchase Agreements to buy power from existing solar farms around Las Vegas

This means they get power at a discounted rate from solar farms they didn’t need to build, maintain, or operate.

This same program is available to homeowners too, with no down payments required and no upfront costs.

You can stop overpaying for your power too and join the casinos who have recognized that relying on a monopoly for power is a losing hand.

Last week, a judge ruled that PUCN’s approval of NV energy’s daily demand charge was legal

Which means you will see a new fee added to your bill starting January 2027

Every 15 min of your usage is being monitored and charged at a premium rate

What can you do about it?

Waiting for the courts to suddenly rule in your favor is not a strategy

And all options should be considered

For those who rent or live in an apartment, balcony solar is already available on the market and the push for utility approval is underway

For those who own a home, switching to solar and battery storage is the most obvious and
easiest solution

Electric rates are not going anywhere but up, which makes your investment into rooftop solar
more compelling

You can become your own power plant with outage backup
