In JUNE of 2005, I made a living selling my own music CDs (in an increasingly iPod-centric world). But by AUGUST of 2005, I produced my first podcast (which increased CD sales on one of my websites by 23%).

And in AUGUST of 2006, I started PodWorx, which positioned me as among the first full-time, professional podcasters in the country.

Up to that point, I was happily selling music CDs that I (and some friends) had recorded (~150,000 copies to that point). But the writing was on the wall. With the continued success and popularity of iTunes, the ability to sell CDs was at risk. But, surprisingly enough, while Apple’s iTunes taketh away (CD sales), it also uncovered podcasting.

After having added 23% in sales as the result of my first podcast, I excitedly told Melissa about how cool this whole podcasting thing was. ā€œI can talk about stuff and people will be able to download the audio files and listen to me! How cool is that?!?!ā€

ā€œWhy would anybody want to do that?ā€, Melissa asked.

Now, this may not sound terribly supportive, but Melissa’s question uncovered a critical breakthrough. I needed to understand and define the ā€œMeasurement of Successā€ for podcasting.

At this point, when I first discovered a podcast could help sell something, I had already been running my own business for seven years. I was creating five-figure websites and had sold over 150,000 CDs. I knew how to sell. Yet, podcasts were a brand new ā€œthangā€. It was something that didn’t have much researchable information available.

I had the ability to sell (and teach selling) on things that lots of people knew about. But podcasting was something different. I had to figure out exactly how to approach the creation of podcasts AND how to position them as a valuable part of a business's marketing efforts.

While all that sounds spooky, like I said, by August of 2006 I became a full-time, professional podcaster.

I was able to do this because, after Melissa asked the right questions, I finally uncovered how to properly APPROACH podcasting.

I spent quite a bit of time thinking about it. And eventually, I landed on the answer. Actually, two answers. I figured out how to measure a podcast’s success and the repeatable approach to the creation of a podcast that achieves those measurements.

Starting PodWorx lead to the creation of an online broadcasting suite of solutions that add real value to our clients, including the Vegas Video Network, Vegas Video Co-op, LIVE STREAM Las Vegas, Roku Vegas, Income for Talent, and the Scott Whitney Academy. It also generates a sizeable amount of revenue as well; last year was our best year ever. This year is trending higher.

The key to effective online broadcasting, whether podcasts, live streaming, or video-on-demand, is to fully understand how to plan, produce, publish, and promote this content. What I trademarked as the Four P’s of PodcastingĀ®.

And whether or not you are successful with YOUR podcast, live stream, or video-on-demand content will ultimately depend on what kind of guidance you get along the way.

If you don’t want to struggle with unlocking the secret to developing a podcast (or other online-based media), then I have something to offer you (with no strings attached).

Oh, and it’s free.

It’s called, ā€œHOW TO DEVELOP A PROFITABLE PODCAST USING THE FOUR P’S OF PODCASTINGĀ®ā€. And I plan to deliver it as a LIVE streaming event.

I’ve been invited to present this content to subscribers/clients of a well-known online news portal. But I decided I wanted to share this info with my friends and colleagues as well.

It’ll teach you the exact methodology I’ve used for 15 years to plan, produce, publish, and promote over 2,800 podcast episodes and 1,500+ live stream broadcasts. It’ll help with other online media as well. It’s fast-paced and easy to understand. It should take less than 30 minutes.

If this sounds valuable to you, simply put this date on your calendar:

FRIDAY, May 28th, at 9AM PDT.

I’ll be broadcasting it on the LiveEventHQ.com website and will include the ability for you to ask questions during the broadcast. Here's the direct link:

Finally, if you think a friend, family, or work buddy would be helped by this, invite them to join as well.

Take care,

-- Scott

p.s. The COVID-19 craziness has been rough for many of the people I know on Facebook. I’m making this content available for free to help those looking for a new way to generate income.
