Happy New Year and a belated Merry Christmas. It's a new year which means new goals and resolutions! This year my wife and I are going to find a house and start our apiary once again. we'll keep you all in the loop along the way.

Good Morning Everyone! I wanted to give you all an update on what our current status is for beekeeping. We have lost all 4 hives due to what we had previously posted about. We are not in a position to take any major actions about it, it was an accident and the farmer did not know that it would affect our bee or that we even had bees not to far away. We have spoken with the city and the farmer and they stated they will let us know when they plan on spraying again (once a year). But...

That being said we are stepping back from Beekeeping while we are at our current residents, we have plans on buying a house within the next couple years depending on the market. We may pick up rescues here and there but not many.

Thank you everyone for your support we'll make a strong comeback in the near future.

Update on our bee issue. So far it seems we have lost all of our hives to the herbicide that was used to treat a roadway that runs behind out house. I have not done a full inspection of the last two hive due to the heat, but the activity at the entrance of those hives is practically none existent. Once we get weather that isn't above 100 or not raining I'll check them out. Depending on that check is when we decided if we continue our beekeeping business here or wait till we can move to a more permanent location to be able to circumvent this issue in the future since our local city no longer wants to respond to our emails in regards to even just notifying us when they treat. We appreciate everyone's support and will continue posting small updates about our chickens in the mean time.

Thanks,
Matt

Well as much as I liked saying we were going to post more our youngest ended up getting exteremly sick and spent a month in the hospital. He is doing far better but the last time I posted I said we had a surprise added to the HamsHoneyHouse family... we welcomed 6 chickens to our family to live along side our bees. They are currently about 13 weeks old and living their best life out back.

First small extraction of Ham's Honey House Honey. We didnt plan on getting any this year, but I needed to remove a honey super from our main hive and they had two frames of honey. The rest of the hive is two brood boxes with tons of resources for them to survive the up coming winter. These are not currently for sale. We are hoping next year we can have our first honey sale!

I want to apologize to everyone whose tried to contact us recently. We have been extrememly busy with life. Mainly the birth of our second child 2 months ago and just trying to enjoy the beginning of his life. Its getting late into the year so extractions become more risky for a colonies survival. So we are able to come and tell you what we think and needs to happen and will try to wait till spring for any large extractions.

Thanks
