If you haven't had the opportunity to do so yet today, stop and take a moment to breathe. Clear your mind, focus on your breaths, and sit in a moment of peace.

No matter who you are or what you're doing, the world will take its toll on you. As you go about your day, remember that it is okay to take care of yourself - in fact, you should take care of yourself! Transitioning back to "normal" or some semblance of normal can be stressful to say the least. While it can be easy to fall into the same routines and prioritize productivity over self care, remember this analogy:

You are a cup of water. You can only fill up someone else's cup if you have some water in your cup to give.

Before you do anything else, make sure to take care of yourself first. Only then can you help others and keep up with the chaos of daily life.

What are your favorite self care tips? Feel free to share them in the comments below.

How often do you open up yourself to new ideas?

While there's nothing wrong with what's tried & true, you cannot hang onto old ideas that aren't getting you where you want to go.

What worked in the past will not work forever, however, the longer an idea is used, the harder it is to let go.

It's always better to be on the forefront of change instead of being dragged along.

What old ideas are you looking to move beyond this quarter?

If you've ever tried to please someone, you know how exhausting it can be.

Instead of following our hearts, we're sidetracked by the "promise" of someone liking us purely based on whether or not we do things according to their preferences.

It can be easy to fall into the trap of pleasing others, but it's important to note that no matter what you do, you'll never please everyone. I'm sure you've probably heard that before (I know, it's a cliché statement), but it's such a popular quote because it's true.

Instead of living to please others, make sure that you're living to please yourself first. After all, you're the only person that has to endure yourself 24/7 for the rest of your life. Make sure you're proud of who you are and what you do, and goodness will follow.

So...who will you live for today?

Do you challenge yourself regularly?

Growing up, I remember the times I avoided doing things because I was afraid of failure or because I knew I did that thing poorly. I imagine we've all had the same experience at some point in our lives.

As a leader, I'm aware of the things I have to do to lead my team and create a better world for us all. However, I sometimes think of how repetitive things are when I stick exactly to the "script" of how I intend things to be.

While doing things according to plan is ideal, doing so prevents us from being faced with challenges that are put in place to help us grow.

No matter how old we are, we still need opportunities for growth. If you haven't challenged yourself in a while, make it a personal goal to step outside of your comfort zone every once in a while. Though you may not realize it then, doing so will make you a better, more experienced person.

When is the last time you wanted to achieve something, but you ended up running around in circles completely stressed out?

In that situation, did you have a goal set, or did you just have a mental note of something you intended to do?

When we have tasks we want to complete, they are not actionable until they are turned into a goal. Goals provide direction, context, and information to keep you accountable, none of which intentions have.

The next time you feel like one of those kids "running up and down the field," step back, and set up a goal. You may be surprised by the clarity it provides.

What is one of your goals?

"They don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." -Unknown

In this world of "experience," finding a job can be hard. It seems to become more and more common that companies are prioritizing experience over character and personality. This is okay, but what happens later on when a company realizes their workers may have great experience but poor work ethic.

It's time we fix our eyes on what truly matters. Simply caring (about the world, about yourself, and about others) can make a large difference on how you carry yourself and the work that you do.

The next time you're in an interview, try it for yourself. Instead of showing them you know a lot, show them you care. This will surely set you apart, both in professional and personal realms.

"Change begins at the end of your comfort zone." -Roy T. Bennett

Are you comfortable right now with where you're at?

Whether it's work or your personal life, how comfortable are you on an average day? Have you considered that you're limiting your growth and potential by being stagnant and staying comfortable?

Though it can be hard to move away from safety and security, escaping one's comfort zone is necessary in order to bring about change.

If the world was meant to stay the way it is right now, there would be no reason for new days, new ideas, new people, or new connections.

Open your mind to the possibilities that await when you escape your comfort zone.

When you think of a great leader, would you characterize them as "perfect?"

How would you react if I told you that leaders shouldn't be perfect?

A Forbes article was recently published that claims great leadership stems from a lack of perfection.

One notable quote: "unrealistically high standards and expectations can impede your leadership, no matter what the underlying reason."

This is a great read if you have the time - it serves as a reminder that even the best leaders are flawed, just like all humans are. Feel free to check out the full article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/kathymillerperkins/2021/11/11/want-great-leadership--here-is-why-and-how-to-avoid-perfectionism/?sh=429cf4611df5

What do you think of when someone tells you that they need to "find" themself?

How is it possible to "find yourself" if you don't even know who you are? We must first create ourselves before we can "find" ourselves by rediscovering who we are.

Instead of spending your life trying to find yourself, focus your energy on creating yourself into the person you desire to be... you'll thank yourself later😊
