Dan’s Appliance Delivery & Installation Checklist
168 3rd Street, Leechburg, PA 15656 | 724-845-8141
BEFORE DELIVERY DAY (Applies to ALL Appliances)
☐ Measure twice: doorways, hallways, stairs, and the appliance space (width/height/depth).
☐ Clear the path: remove rugs, furniture, breakables, snow/ice, and anything in the way.
☐ Pets & kids secured and an adult (18+) home during the appointment.
☐ Utilities ready: existing water / electric / gas / vent connections must already be in place and working.
☐ We do NOT do carpentry, countertop/cabinet modifications, new plumbing runs, new electrical circuits/outlets, or new venting through walls.
☐ Old unit prep: empty and clear the old appliance area. (We’ll disconnect/remove old unit only when installation + haul-away are included.)

Dan’s Appliance — What Our Delivery & Installation Team Will NOT Do
To keep everyone safe and installations correct, our team connects to existing, working hookups only. We will not:
Home Modifications / Construction
• Cut, trim, or modify cabinets, countertops, walls, floors, tile, or trim
• Remove doors, railings, windows, or permanent fixtures (beyond simple interior doors if needed and safe)
• Move or alter built-in structures, soffits, islands, or enclosures to “make it fit”
• Perform carpentry, drywall, masonry, or painting
Plumbing (Water)
• Install new water lines through walls/floors/cabinets or relocate plumbing
• Replace or repair shut-off valves, seized valves, leaking valves, or corroded plumbing
• Connect to unsafe, damaged, or nonstandard plumbing
• Clear clogs or repair drains (dishwasher/washer standpipe/sink drain)
• Install or replace water filtration systems or modify filtration plumbing
Electrical
• Install new outlets, new circuits, or run new wiring (including behind walls)
• Hardwire appliances when an outlet is required or the wiring is not ready
• Replace electrical panels, breakers, junction boxes, or fix existing wiring problems
• Use extension cords, power strips, or non-approved adapters as a permanent solution
Gas
• Run new gas lines or relocate gas piping
• Repair gas leaks, replace old gas valves, or modify gas piping
• Connect to a gas supply that is not accessible, not shut-off capable, or not up to code
• Perform propane (LP) conversions unless specifically arranged in advance with the proper kit
Venting
• Create new venting (cutting holes, routing ducts through walls/ceilings/roof)
• Re-route or redesign vent systems (dryer or OTR microwave)
• Clean long, blocked, or unsafe venting systems (we can refuse install if unsafe)
Appliance Fit / Access Limitations
• Force an appliance into a space that’s too small
• Deliver/install if access is unsafe (icy steps, tight turns, loose railings, clutter, aggressive pets)
• Move excessive furniture, remove built-in shelving, or rearrange rooms
• Carry appliances up/down stairs beyond what’s safe for our crew/equipment
Old Appliance Removal (Haul-Away)
• Remove an old appliance if it’s not empty, not accessible, or not safely removable
• Haul away appliances that are still hardwired, still plumbed, or still connected to gas when conditions don’t allow safe disconnection
• Remove built-in units that require cabinet/counter modifications to extract
Dishwasher / Disposal Specific
• Install a dishwasher where there is no proper water shut-off, power, or drain connection
• Install a disposal if there is no power, improper wiring, or plumbing that won’t accept it without modification
• Repair rotted sink bases, broken drain pipes, or damaged traps under the sink
Testing / Final Results
• Guarantee performance if your home’s hookups/venting are poor (ex: clogged dryer vent, low water pressure)
• Stay to run full cycles (we verify safe connection and basic operation, then you test usage)
• Provide code compliance certification for existing home issues
Top 10 Reasons We Can’t Complete a Delivery/Installation (Most Common)
1. Appliance won’t fit (space is too small, doorway/stairway too tight, or turns are too sharp).
2. Path isn’t clear or safe (clutter, pets loose, slippery steps, poor lighting, unsafe stairs/railings).
3. No working shut-off valve for water appliances (or valve is seized/leaking/corroded).
4. No proper electrical power (missing outlet, wrong outlet, dead outlet, or needs new circuit).
5. Gas hookup not ready (no accessible shut-off valve, unsafe piping, or gas supply issues).
6. No proper venting (dryer vent missing/unsafe/clogged, or OTR venting requires new ducting).
7. Drain problems (dishwasher/washer drain is clogged, no drain connection, or improper setup).
8. Old appliance not ready for removal (not emptied, blocked in, still hardwired, still connected to gas/water).
9. Area needs home modifications (cabinet/counter/flooring/trim changes required to install or remove unit).
10. Missing required parts/accessories (correct cord, gas connector, vent kit, dishwasher/disposal install kit, stacking kit, trim pieces, etc.).
