Glass top cooking surface TIP OF THE DAY

*Spray white vinegar on any spills or blemishes to soak while your cooktop cools.

*While the surface is still warm, remove any remaining residue with a cooktop razor scraper. Avoid using steel wool scouring pads that could scratch the glass surface.

*Apply a non-abrasive cooktop cleaning solution to the surface and buff it away with a soft cloth. Alternatively, make a DIY cleaning paste from baking soda and warm water. Apply the paste to the cooktop, allowing it to soak for up to 20 minutes before wiping it away.

Clean Coils in Your Refrigerator

Clogged coils restrict air flow, which makes your fridge work harder. Once or twice a year, use a hand-held vacuum to suck any dust, dirt, or pet hair out of the coils. If possible, pull out the unit and clean the back too.

Garage disposal and the Magic Button

All disposers have an overload feature that automatically shuts off the power when the motor becomes overloaded and gets too hot. Once the motor cools, simply push the reset button on the side of or under the unit. It is usually located on the bottom of the disposal.

Freshen Your Microwave

Fill a microwave-safe container with two cups of water and two tablespoons of vinegar, then microwave for three to five minutes. When it’s done, leave the door shut for another few minutes to allow the steam to do its work. Finally, take a sponge or cloth and wipe the interior down.

Dishwasher tips -

Use a couple of cups of vinegar in the bottom of your dishwasher and run on low for an easy, effective clean cycle. Vinegar will also do a great job cleaning th exterior of a stainless dishwasher.

Be sure to clean the door seals. Wipe the edge of the dishwasher with a water and vinegar solution, using a soft cloth to clean any debris off the seals.
