Happy rainy Wednesday Facebook friends and family. It’s been a busy few weeks so I haven’t posted any job pics lately so here’s what I have been up to job wise. I was at Rocky Fork Lake State Park down by Chillicothe Ohio helping my customer build new boat ramps and fishing walk way. I welded the galvanized shoring channel to the sheet piles which will then be filled with concrete for pedestrian traffic and fishing and overflow boat parking. There is a huge dam there also being rebuilt by another contractor. Then from there I went to Greenville Ohio to the new waste water treatment plant to weld more stainless steel aeration piping. Next we will go back to our bridge repair job somewhere else in Ohio weather permitting. I was also on the Maumee River close to Toledo Ohio to install some steps for the new pump house there. Then back to Greenville for more miscellaneous welding there. Enjoy the pics.  G
od is blessing me with plenty of work right now, so we are taking advantage of it as business is up and down as usual.

So the last couple days I have been able to get a couple small jobs done for some customers. I had a fab install handrail for an access door to the outside conveyor at Lima Ohio Metzger road reservoir pump station and also had to modify another handrail to clear an access door on a control panel as well. Then we had to fab up a handrail for some steps for a customer who owns the mobile home park next to the shop for one of his mobile homes. All in a days work.

Yesterday we finished up some more small jobs at the Lima Ohio Metzger road reservoir pump station on the Ottawa River. When installing the new equipment they had to cut out some handrails so the chain guards would close and clear the crosswalk. The customer wanted chains in place of the handrails so that’s what we did. The access cabinets were fabricated wrong so we fixed that as well and helped install them.

Today we did a small handrail modification at the pump house for the Ottawa Ohio water treatment plant.

Another bridge job for a few weeks this one had pier piles and embutment piles so we were on this job about 3 weeks. The pier piles were galvanized so they were extremely hard to weld. I also had to weld heavy angle iron to the pier piles for the concrete pile cap forms as you can see in the pics. North East Ohio bridge crossing the Sugar Creek.

This week we are working on a water reservoir pump station for the City of Lima Ohio. We are welding 24” ductile iron pipe where the tank didn’t quite line up with the underground pipe flanges so we cut new flanges and lined them up as best we could and then we start filling up the roots. Once we get the gaps filled in with good material then we start the cover passes. Probably a good 4 to 6 passes on both joints is my estimation.

Today I went back to one of my Columbus Ohio jobs to install a waste disposal conveyor to the ceiling of the conveyor building. It moves whatever comes out of the wastewater plant that is leftover from the treatment and then it goes to a close landfill for disposal. This job was extremely hard because I had to weld stainless steel to galvanized I beams which is not easy to do even for a professional welder like myself. It’s extremely hazardous to my health the fumes are deadly if ingested to much so needless to say I wore my respirator and had my fan blowing air away from me. Also it was about 28 feet in the air so all difficult welding was vertical and overhead. My welds came out as I wanted them too and job was a success. This is the first time I have done stainless to galvanized and I hope it’s my last time 😢. But keeping my customers happy is number one priority so sometimes I have to step outside the box and just do it.

Today we started another local wastewater treatment plant this one is Allen County Wastewater Treatment plant. Probably be here a couple weeks. Then back for a second phase later this year. This one has a variety of sizes. From 6” to 16” all stainless steel. Also all outside work and all air piping. I like getting some of my tax dollars back 😃😃
