Welcome to the Hive Home Service family, Jonathan Halstead! 🐝🏡

Jonathan brings 10 years of hands-on home maintenance experience to the team, with specialties in garage doors, plumbing, and general carpentry and finish work. He got his start in high school working maintenance at Covenant Cedars Bible Camp, then went full-time building new cabins after graduation. Ever since, he’s been the guy who won’t stop until he knows exactly why something broke — and exactly how to fix it.

A Nebraska native through and through, Jonathan grew up in Millard, then Hordville, and headed to Grand Island for college before putting down roots here in Lincoln. In his words: “It’s hard in the construction field to feel like I’m making a difference, but with Hive Home Service I get to meet you where you’re at and help with all your maintenance needs and be a home ally.”

At home, Jonathan’s the proud husband to Grace and father of two active kids — Gloria (5) and Franklin (2) — and the family’s basset hound, Phoebe.

🪟 Caught it before it became a big problem.

During a routine quarterly visit, we spotted two windows that had gone bad — the kind of thing that turns into water damage, drafts, and a major repair bill if it’s left alone.

So we swapped them out on the spot and saved the homeowner a costly headache down the road.

That’s the whole point of regular check-ups: catching the small stuff before it becomes the big stuff. 🐝

💧 When a pipe bursts, every minute counts.

One of our customers had their basement flooding from a burst pipe in the wall. We were on-site in 45 minutes and had the leak stopped fast — before the damage could spread.

But we didn’t stop there. We came back and gave that basement a complete remodel, turning a soggy disaster into a space they love. 🔨✨

Emergencies don’t wait, and neither do we. Whatever the problem, we’ll handle it all. 🐝

Most roof failures don’t announce themselves. 🏠

From the ground, this roof looked fine. But during one of our quarterly Hive member inspections, we found multiple defects that told a different story — the kind of issues that quietly lead to leaks, rot, and expensive interior damage if nobody’s looking.

The good news? Somebody WAS looking.

Our member got the findings, photos, and honest recommendations — and chose to replace the roof before it ever became an emergency. Today we’re tearing off the old and putting on the new.

The best time to find a roof problem is before it finds you. That’s what the Hive is for. 🐝
