I’ve noticed during the first big “we made it season,” fulfillment and hosting takes over. The day-to-day turns into survival to keep up with the never ending inbox, changing the air filters, pulling weeds, and tracking down missing decor. Frankly, it’s exhausting.

And along the way, what got you this busy… loses priority.

Posting on socials, keeping up with your GBP, networking, and learning ads… become an afterthought.

then fall wraps up, and venue owners look around and go, “why does next year look so light?”

I fear we have lost the plot of why the wedding industry exists. The most rewarding parts of the venue business aren’t aesthetic. They don’t come with praise and glory. It’s not when you hit your booking goals. They come from the moments you serve, knowing you’ll never be recognized. Doing it because you can’t help but love on them. Yes, we have to post on socials to market our wedding venue. No, it doesn’t have to be hard or take a lot of time. It starts with catching a few special moments and angles that showcase the beauty of your space. Save this and LMK if you want the exact camera settings I use.

After booking 600+ weddings, I noticed most venues get the tour all wrong. They’re so afraid of sounding salesy, yet they don’t understand why couples we adore end up booking another place. With stakes this high, mastering our tour is more valuable than making property improvements by a LONG SHOT.

Just kidding. I don’t take breaks. So we bought our venue, and there was barely a grooms room. A vendor room?! I’d love to have one for my staff who work 12-16 hour days, but apparently that was not a thing when mine was built back in 2015. Safe to say the wedding industry has CHANGED. Can’t decide if it’s for the better or not. Wedding pros- thoughts?? 👇👇
