🇺🇸🇮🇷 Despite Iran's announced suspension of negotiations, the White House remains optimistic. A senior U.S. official told CBS News that "there will be an agreement" and that finalization could take "from a few days to over a week." The official acknowledged that Trump requested several changes during Friday's discussions and has since called for further amendments to the draft.
However, sources cited by The New York Times are more cautious. According to the newspaper, the White House awaits "a new response from Iran" in negotiations that "risk starting from a more backward square." Final approval in Tehran rests with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, who has not yet publicly commented on the draft.
Analysis by Chem. Eng. Moisés R. Hernández, Director of MRH Analysis and World Academic Podcast. The White House sells optimism, but reality is stubborn. Iran suspended negotiations, not paused them. As long as strikes in Lebanon continue, Tehran won't return to the table. Days will turn into weeks, and weeks into another month of war.
