Members of Battalion 1 were kept running this afternoon with multiple critical incidents. Requests for mutual aid from Derry, Hudson & Windham were made.

16:19 - Engine 2, Ambulance 3 & Paramedic 1 responded to Cross Rd for Traumatic Injuries from a fall.

17:13 - Ladder 2, Medic 4, Paramedic 1 & Battalion 1 responded to Perkins Rd for an unresponsive person.

17:36 - Engine 2, Ladder 2, Rescue 1, Paramedic 1 & Battalion 1 w/Derry Engine & Medic + Hudson Engine to Jetty Ln for a reported Building Fire. Being a large apartment building and with Engine 1 unavailable transporting in Medic 4 an additional Engine from Windham was requested. Fire found to be contained to the stove top and placed under control quickly.

18:01 - Ladder 2, Rescue 1, Medic 4 & Paramedic 1 Stonehenge @ Hardy for an MVA Rollover w/Entrapment. One pt extricated and transported w/serious injuries.

18:07 - Engine 2, Battalion 1 & Windham Ambulance for a motorcycle accident Hardy @ Pheasant Run. Medic 3 staffed by callback personnel responded and canceled Windham. One pt transported w/serious injuries.

Our thoughts are with the Londonderry Police Department and their injured member.

At 09:40 this morning Londonderry Fire Communications Center (TCO’s Loomis & Farr) received Radio Box 110 for a fire alarm activation at 11 Industrial Dr. Members of Battalion 1 staffing Engine 1 (Lt/P B.Schofield, FF St Jean & FF/P Boshar) Ladder 2 (Lt/P Northrop, FF/P Jerome & FF DeCarli) Engine 2 (Lt/P Barnett, FF Patten & FF Fowler) & BC-1 (BC Mague) were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

While companies were responding a 2nd activation rang in from the box and a phone call from the facility reporting a fire in the building. BC Mague requested the assignment be filled bringing Ambulance 1 (FF Proulx & FF Covel) Paramedic 1 (FF/P Hinds) Rescue 1 (BC Hallowell & Lt/P C.Schofield) a Bedford Engine, Derry Medic & Manchester Truck to the scene as well as C-1 (Chief Young)

Engine 1 then reported a large column of smoke visible from the airport and the “Working Fire” was transmitted bringing engines from Merrimack & Derry.

Shortly after arriving the 2nd alarm was transmitted bringing Windham, Salem & Hudson to the scene.

Crews deployed hoselines and began opening the roof in the area of the fire. The fire was found to be burning between layers of the roof proving to be very labor intensive and the 3rd alarm was transmitted bringing Litchfield, Goffstown, Pelham & Nashua to the scene.

K-1 (DC Johnson) also responded to the scene for investigation & the CERT team for Rehab.

Lt. DeVoe responded as a pilot on the Salem Engine with FF Chartrand doing the same on the Hudson Engine.

The main body of the fire was knocked down quickly but crews remained heavily engaged chasing hot spots and conducting overhaul operations.

Thank you to our mutual aid who assisted at the scene and to our callback personnel as well as Allenstown (1) Chester (2) & Hampstead (C) for providing coverage while companies were committed.

Please join us in congratulating Firefighters Kyle Proulx & Ryan Mague, who graduated from paramedic school Friday evening and will soon transition into their new roles as Firefighter/Paramedics! We are all extremely proud of their achievements and are excited to have them joining our team of highly trained paramedics, who are able to provide advanced level care to patients within our great community. Kyle & Ryan attended the ProEMS Center for Medics program in Cambridge Massachusetts and performed 1,000 hours of training over a 9-month period, all while still working their regularly scheduled shifts and balancing home lives. Strong work gentlemen!

At 14:16 Londonderry Fire Communications Center (TCO’s Leone & Farr) received 911 calls reporting an MVA w/an occupant ejected on Interstate 93 SB at MM 13.2. Members of Battalion 1 staffing Engine 1 (Lt/P B.Schofield, Lt/P Cotton & FF St Jean) Medic 2 (Lt/P Barnett, FF Patten & FF Fowler) Paramedic 1 (FF/P Jerome) BC-1 (BC Mague) & a Derry Engine were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

Ladder 2 (Lt/P Northrop, FF/P Hinds & FF Chartrand) who were initially tied up on a simultaneous call with Ambulance 3 were able to free up and respond to the highway.

Engine 1 arrived on scene and reported a single vehicle in the median with easier access for responding crews on the NB side. Upon investigation companies found an occupant who had been ejected and was now pinned under the vehicle. Companies were able to quickly extricate them and begin providing ALS care.

Due to the extent of the injuries air medical transport was requested and the Derry Engine company was assigned to secure an LZ in the NB lane.

Boston Medflight arrived and assumed patient care transporting them to a level 1 trauma center for further treatment of their injuries.

Thank you to Litchfield for providing a cover Engine and handling a fire alarm activation in the north end while our companies were committed.

At 16:37 Londonderry Fire Communications Center (TCO’s Loomis & Farr) received a 911 call reporting an unknown odor in the building at 1 Charleston Ave. Members of Battalion 3 staffing Engine 2 (Lt/P Maccarone, FF Sorenson & FF Marotta) Ladder 2 (Lt/P C.Schofield, FF/P Lopata & FF Mague) Engine 1 (Lt Blake, FF/P Gagne & FF Theve) & BC-3 (BC Camire) were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

Ladder 2 arrived at 16:42:57 and reported no obvious conditions from the exterior of a 3 story apartment building with partial evacuation. The crew of Engine 2 entered the building and reported a smoke condition on the 1st floor and activated the fire alarm to evacuate the remainder of the building. BC Camire ordered the assignment to be filled (Building Fire response) bringing Rescue 1 (FF Wood & FF Trickett) Paramedic 1 (FF/P Dermody) K-1 (DC Johnson) a Derry Engine, Derry Medic & Salem Engine to the scene.

Companies located a fire burning in a wall between two apartments and were able to quickly open up and extinguish. Crews remained on scene overhauling and ventilating the building and Fire Prevention conducted their investigation before turning the property back over to the property rep.

The Derry Medic remained on scene for force protection while the Derry Engine (C) & Salem Engine (2) were diverted for station coverage.
