👵👴 Happy Grandparents Day! Today, we’re celebrating the wisdom and strength of our elders.

This photo captures a moment with my grandmother, Lydia, alongside her sons. My Dad, Dean, sitting second from the left, but Lydia was the true force of nature in this family.
She was ahead of her time—full of energy, excitement, and a determination to live life on her terms. She was a world traveler, strong-willed, a prankster with a wicked sense of humor, and a storyteller who could captivate anyone lucky enough to listen.

I remember eagerly anticipating visits with her, where I'd sit spellbound by tales of her adventures—like living in Maracaibo, Venezuela, during an era when few ventured far from home, or her time as a Rosie the Riveter during World War II, where she contributed to the war effort with her own hands.

One of her boldest moves was crossing the country to California, where she broke barriers and became a real estate agent in 1948—when women in the field were practically unheard of.

Her legacy of strength, courage, and laughter lives on in all of us. Miss you, Grandma Lydia. 💖
