Guilt is a feeling not a fact!

You haven’t failed them.

Right now, your kids might be feeling unsafe. Their entire world ended when their father died, and sometimes that results in us projecting anger to the safest person around..

Comic kids below or send me a DM and we can talk about how to get back on track steady the ship for you and your family

I’m putting together a small, private cohort of 20 widowed moms who want to transition from 'just surviving' for their kids to actually feeling stable, organized, and worthy again over the next 45 days. No fluff, just the exact steps I used when navigating this with an infant. If you want a spot, comment 'READY' below and I’ll DM you the details.

Anger as Protection and What it might be blocking.

I used to think my anger was strength.

And in a way, it was. It got me out of bed. It gave me somewhere to put the pain that had no name yet. Anger is loud, and loud felt better than the silence grief leaves behind.

But here's what I've learned — in my own life and in the work I do with others:

Anger can become a wall we hide behind without realizing it.

And sometimes, on the other side of that wall, there's something we're not ready to receive. A memory. A moment. Even a gift we can't see yet because the anger is standing in front of it.

This isn't about forgiving too soon. Or pretending it didn't hurt.

It's about asking yourself honestly — *is my anger still protecting me, or is it starting to cost me something?*

There's a difference between anger that moves you forward and anger that keeps you in the same place year after year.

You're allowed to put it down. Not for him. For you.

💙 What has anger protected you from — and what do you think it might be blocking?

In 2010, had a really rough year. I had a baby, got married, was demoted from my senior director position at mental health agency, and my husband died and so became a widow with 10 month old baby girl.

I struggled with the emotional ups and downs of grief; anger, sadness, guilt, shame, overwhelm. It took me a little over 1 year to get help from a grief coach. Even my Family and friends encouraged me to get support.

It was the best decision. Save me time and pain.

I learned how to notice the courageous choices I was making in life,
I learned that anger, sadness do no exist alone, there is room for joy and contentment as well.
I learned to believe I was worthy of happiness and even love and affection.
I learned how to ask for help and accept it when offered.
I learned that holding on to my anger about his death was not providing security nor was it keeping me close to him.
I learned that I would not forget him and how to talk about him to our daughter so she can feel connected.
