Training on a Global Scale
IMTA President Randal Collins and International Member Susan Whyte recently took part in an extraordinary full-scale emergency response exercise at the Port of NEOM in Saudi Arabia—a level of training many agencies only dream of.
The complex scenario included a shipboard fire, man overboard, multiple casualties, and an oil spill, all unfolding in real time. Responders from NEOM, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, the Ministry of Health, the Saudi Border Guard, and Saudi Civil Defense worked together in a coordinated, multi-agency response effort.
This kind of immersive training tests more than just tactical skills—it challenges communication, leadership, and cross-agency coordination under high-stress, real-world conditions. And it underscores exactly why IMTA is committed to international partnerships and global readiness.
Randal and Susan's participation reflects IMTA’s growing global presence—and the shared commitment of incident management professionals around the world to continuous learning, collaboration, and readiness at every level.
