❤️ I wanted to quit, too.

I even asked if I could.

But Father told me:

Go back.

My business is not for you to do exactly what I did. That part is already done.

I have come back for you.

To equip employees with real-world lessons for real-time workplace harassment.

To provide leadership for the select few who may need to make employment decisions when discrimination compromises life—while protecting their continual employability.

And to remind you that your faith belongs in these decisions, too.

WHY #4: RETURN TO WORK

Why are major U.S. hospitals adopting Workforce Care™?

There are 6 Whys.

So far, we’ve discussed:

WHY #1 — Shared Responsibility
WHY #2 — Workplace Culture
WHY #3 — Health & Safety

Today:

WHY #4 — Return to Work.

At Glennae’s RX for Life®, Workforce Care™ is designed to create a win-win for the employer and the employee.

An employee taking leave is only the beginning.

Now what?

If the conditions contributing to her distress haven’t been understood, if recovery is happening in isolation without system-level education and support to address the workplace problem, and if the administration isn’t being prepared for retaliation prevention when she returns, a medical release alone is not a return-to-work strategy.

Compliance.
Conduct.
Confusion.
Conflict.

Leaving these issues unresolved can create increased risk for stress-related problems, prolonged leave, workforce loss, and financial leaks.

That’s why we believe:

Return to Work Begins at Day 0 of Leave.™

Your employee needs an opportunity to recover healthy, happy, and whole.

Your organization needs an opportunity to protect its people, performance, and profit.

That’s the win-win.

My October calendar is now open.

Hospital administrators and workforce leaders, do your stakeholders a huge favor: let’s talk about how Workforce Care™ can help you save money while helping you save your staff.

What happened to the stressor?

Today in Operation Mental Health™: Practical Lessons on Career Burnout and Recovery, we’re talking about what happens when chronic stress becomes your new normal.

You’re tired.

You’re not sleeping well.

Your mood is changing.

Your body is changing.

Eventually, receiving a diagnosis and treatment plan may even bring relief.

Finally, there’s a name for what you’ve been experiencing.

But I want Black career women to ask another question:

What happened to the stressor?

If the problem started at work, what changed at work?

If workplace discrimination is affecting your health, has the problem been addressed?

If you’re a nurse working short-staffed, worried about patient safety, your license, and your own health—what is your plan?

You can treat the symptoms.

You can learn to manage the stress.

But if the source of the stress remains, what exactly are you recovering from?

This is why I teach Employee Mental Health Education™.

Before chronic workplace stress becomes your new normal, get understanding.

I’m hosting my FREE Employee Mental Health Education™ Masterclass:

The 8 Critical Lessons Black Career Women Need to Know About Workplace Depression.

If you’re ready to stop asking only, “What’s wrong with me?” and start asking, “What is happening around me, and what am I going to do about it?”

Let’s quickly discuss chronic stress.

Cortisol is a hormone involved in helping your body respond to a threat.

But what happens when the threat keeps showing up?

For some Black career women, that threat may be workplace discrimination.

For nurses, it may be working short-staffed while worrying about patient safety, their license, and the consequences of something going wrong.

Day after day.

Week after week.

Month after month.

We talk a lot about managing stress.

But I want to ask you something different:

What are you currently doing about your stress that actually solves the problem by eliminating or addressing the stressor?

Not helping you tolerate it.

Not helping you carry it longer.

What are you doing about the thing causing it?

If you can’t think of anything, you should be in class!

Glennae’s RX for Life® | Workforce Care™ | System-Level Education & Support

Workforce Care™ begins Day 0 of leave.

Whether an employee is navigating Workers’ Compensation or FMLA for workplace mental health concerns, our Workforce Care Nurses provide individualized Workforce Care Plans™ designed to support recovery, return-to-work, and continued employability.

We know the tremendous financial cost of job stress and burnout—and the human toll it takes on workers, families, and organizations.

Our team is uniquely positioned to identify where biased interpretation or application of workplace policy may be contributing to employee harm, prolonged leave, or workforce loss.

Glennae’s RX for Life® provides nurse-led Workforce Care™—an adaptation of the evidence-based nursing process targeted to provide services at the intersection of Workers’ Compensation and workplace mental health.

We provide education and support for gainfully employed, college-educated, career-driven, and faith-based workers who may be at risk of being prematurely diagnosed with a mental illness when the underlying problem began at work.

Our work bridges the gap between workplace stress, employee health, workplace policy, protected leave, informed healthcare decisions, recovery, return-to-work, faith, and accountability to law.

Your health equity goal is our goal. Your wholeness is why my business exists.

After asking hospital executives this question, I decided to ask you. Because for real. Once nurse take off for stress leave, then what. How do you not only manage but eliminate the stressor?

08/23/2026

We’re continuing our reading of Operation Mental Health™: Practical Lessons on Career Burnout and Recovery.

Opening Chapter 4, you learn the 5 stages of stress.

But before you decide what to do about your stress, stop and assess:

What is actually causing it?

Is it job stress?

Something happening in the physical workplace environment?

Is it role-related stress?

You’re responsible for something you may no longer want to be doing—or maybe the role itself no longer fits.

Or is it spiritual stress?

Maybe, just maybe, you’ve gotten to a place beyond your wildest imagination. You’re comfortable. You’ve accomplished what you prayed for.

But something inside of you is pulling you away from things that used to make you happy.

Before you fight.

Before you take flight.

Get understanding.
Get direction.
Get the right mindset.

Because you need to understand what you’re responding to before deciding what to do about it.
