Communications, narrative and brand strategy for founders and purpose-led organizations building something that lasts.

The people we do our best work with aren’t looking for a polished script.

They know what they’re building and why it matters. What they’re looking for is the language that matches what they already know to be true. Its specific, clear and unmistakably theirs.

20/05/2026

Something shifts when your language finally fits.

Not the polished version, or the one that sounds right for the industry. The one that sounds like the person who's speaking.

We see this happen in our sessions. When a client corrects themselves, and finally says what they really mean. The confidence changes and the story comes alive because clarity is finally there.

That’s what our work is about. Not giving someone better language. Helping them find the language they already own.

We built hndrx for a specific kind of leader.
The one who's building something that matters to a community, a cause, and people whose lives are genuinely different because of their work.

Those leaders deserve communications strategy built with the same care and intention as what they're building. That’s what we’re here to do.

The brands that stay with you aren’t the most polished ones. They’re the ones with an authentic and relatable story that you know belongs to them.

It’s not borrowed or shaped by what’s expected. It’s built around who they are, why the brand exists and who it’s for.

When that’s the formula, you don’t have to perform your story. You just share it. That’s what we help people get to.

12/05/2026

When we work with clients, our goal is never to make them sound impressive. It’s to help them sound like themselves.
There’s a real difference between language that’s been assembled to check the right boxes and language that reflects who you are and why the work matters. The first one is fine. The second one is what people remember.

That’s the work we’re here for. We help leaders and organizations find the version of their story that’s specific enough to be true and honest enough to connect.

07/05/2026

3 signs you need a messaging platform:

1. You describe your work differently depending on who’s asking.
2. When someone refers you, the details become vague in translation.
3. Your website, your content, and your presentation don’t quite sound like the same organization.

The story should essentially say the same true thing everywhere. That’s what a messaging platform builds.

05/05/2026

Something we see often: a leader who can walk into any room and explain exactly what they do and why it matters. But when someone tries to introduce their work to a colleague, something gets lost. The details are vague and the impact sounds generic.

That’s not a people problem. It’s a story problem that's solvable.

Jeannine Cook opened Harriett's Bookshop on February 1, 2020. Six weeks later, the pandemic shut it down.
Her response: she moved the inventory outside and sold books on the honor system. Jeannine delivered books on horseback to children across Philadelphia. She kept going.

Five years later, Harriett's is thriving with locations that have expanded into unique spaces like movie theaters and horse trailers….and Paris. The story of what this bookshop is and who it's for has never changed. It just continues reaching more people.

That's what it looks like when the work and narrative is grounded in something real. The clarity and purpose travels.

Harriett's Bookshop celebrates women authors, women artists, and women activists. It's named for Harriet Tubman, in the city that was one of her first stops to freedom. We're glad this place has endured.

Some work generates noise temporarily. Some adds to your story and builds trust.
The difference is what’s underneath it. A strong narrative. Not just a campaign built for a launch.

Why hndrx is spelled this way: not just a branding decision, but a value system spelled out.

We took out what wasn’t doing work. The vowels and the uppercase. What was left was leaner, sharper, with the same intention. That discipline is how we approach our work.
