American Jewelry and Loan was never just another pawn shop. Every day could bring something completely unexpected through the doors, from unusual collectibles and expensive jewelry to customers determined to get the price they wanted.

And then there was the Gold family itself.

The disagreements, sibling rivalry, tough negotiations and family moments helped turn an ordinary day at a Detroit pawn shop into television people still remember years later.
