I look forward to every year photographing our newest Rabbi’s and Rabbi Cantor.
Mazal Tov to Rabbi Malachi Kanfer who is continuing at Kehilat Ma’arav in Santa Monica, CA as their Rabbi.
At the Ziegler School's Tallit Ceremony before ordination, Rabbi Artson reflected on Malachi's unique gifts:
"It's also striking to me that your words flow in music... and we've had the privilege of having you chant sermons and classroom responsa in a way that lets us feel, as the talmud says, that the torah is a shira, it is a song, and it's not simply to be inculcated, it's meant to be danced."
Your beautiful voice, your music, and your Torah have inspired your fellow students, faculty, and all who have had the privilege of learning alongside you. We know that your wisdom and spirit will continue to enrich the Kehilat Ma’arav community and everyone whose lives you touch.
