The average fee for preparing a tax return, including an itemized Form 1040 with Schedule A and a state tax return, will increase a few dollars to $273 this year, a 4.6 percent increase over the average fee last year, which was $261, according to a survey by the National Society of Accountants.

Oh no... I know that our tax clients won't be happy with the delay!

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today announced a delay of approximately one to two weeks to the start of the 2014 filing season to allow adequate time to program and test tax processing systems following the 16-day federal government closure.

Grrr! Bad news... IRS has announced that electronic filing has been pushed back once again. As of today, taxpayers will have to wait until January 30, 2013 to begin sending return files electronically. Keep you all posted on any other news. JB
