Every CEO has some sort of fear or deals with fear in others around them.

To conquer fear, greater belief in what's possible is required, which supports getting faster buy-in to bigger and better objectives & deals.

Henry Ford believed it was possible to create a V8 engine.

His engineers did not due to fear of the unknown = something they hadn’t done before.

Plus they tend to work within known technical boundaries

Henry Ford gave them 6 months to create the V8.

After 6 months they hadn’t figured it out.

He said continue to work on it.

They did & ended up figuring out a way to create the V8 engine.

Fords capacity to believe was so powerful it became a catalyst for the engineers to find a way.

CEOs must have the strongest capacity to believe.

Because people buy-in based on your belief of what is possible.

CEOs have to be primarily wired to see, know and believe to be of greatest support and service to their people.

When a leader sees and knows what is possible and infuses belief into others, they find a way.

We’ve had company boards say no to supporting our CEOs biggest deals in their corporate history.

Deals these CEOs clearly see and know are possible.

Yet the board wasn’t really saying no to their idea.

They were saying no because they didn’t believe, or feared, the CEO didn’t have the capacity to pull it off.

Business is not really about business first.

It's tough out there. Often unpredictable. Sometimes unnerving.

We asked one of our CEOs leading a multi-billion revenue company this trick question to see where he was at:

"What is more important action or the outcome of action?"

Much to our delight he answered:

"State of mind, keeping a clear state of mind when there's so much going on."

He basically confirmed the next CEO revolution is not technology or information or innovation.

It’s our state of mind before we act.

He'd realized this after having a tough last year after hugely successful years before that, he elaborated and said:

"We can put in the same effort and skill and be successful and also not be successful in getting the buy-in to deals and objectives we have."

What makes the difference in things working out when effort and skill are the same, where that little of good fortune or luck allows things to click into place?

One question. Two answers
