Incredible Gimbal to drone handoff by and his crew!

The shot starts as a walking shot where the operator is following the actress wkth the gimbal

Then two people carrying the drone come in and mount the gimbal to the drone, mid shot!

The drone then takes off and creates a beautiful one-shot sequence

Some more Odyssey BTS content!

This shows how complex shooting a fight scene can be on a Christopher Nolan set.

With the IMAX cameras only being able to record 3 minutes of footage, Camera Assistants have to swap out the magazine after almost every take.

Despite this, The Odyssey is the first movie to be shot fully on IMAX!

The IMAX Camera on the Odyssey was so big that they had to invent a mirror system, just so the actors could see each other!

This is all due to the fact that IMAX cameras are MOS, meaning you can’t record sound during the take because of how loud it is.

This is why IMAX developed a special blimp for their cameras to allow Christopher Nolan to shoot the entire film on IMAX

Some Car Rigging action by the crew at !

When shooting car scenes where the car needs to be in motion, you never want your actors to be driving the car.

This is due to safety reasons.

Not only is the visibility usually poor when there’s a camera and lights rigged to the hood.

But it’s hard for the actors to focus on their performance while also having to focus on the road.

This is where a process trailer comes in!

The picture car gets hooked up to the trailer and is then being driven around wherever the story takes us!

Aside from the safety aspect, it also gives you a lot more flexibility with rigging.

You are able to rig cameras and lights more efficiently.

The Odyssey crew talking about their experience shooting on IMAX! 🎥

This film is the first time an entire movie was shot on IMAX.

They managed to do this thanks to the custom blimp that IMAX created which allowed the crew to shoot dialogue scenes with an IMAX camera for the first time.
