🎭 Happy Fat Tuesday! 🎭

It’s the final day of Mardi Gras, and in true New Orleans fashion, it’s all about celebration, tradition, and making the most of every moment.

One thing I love about Mardi Gras is that it’s not just a party—it’s a well-orchestrated masterpiece of leadership, teamwork, and dedication. Every parade, every Krewe, every tradition we see on the streets today exists because of the people behind the scenes who plan, organize, and execute year after year.

There’s a lesson in that—great things don’t happen by accident. Whether it’s a Mardi Gras parade or your team at work, success is built on vision, strategy, and commitment.

So today, whether you’re catching throws, rolling with your Krewe, or celebrating from afar—Laissez les bons temps rouler! 💜💛💚

How are you celebrating Fat Tuesday? Let me know in the comments! ⬇️

🎭 Muses tHERsday Was One for the Books!

Last night, the Krewe of Muses rolled through the streets of New Orleans, and what a ride it was! With 31 floats, 50-60 riders on each, and a pre-party full of incredible energy, this parade was everything Mardi Gras should be—joyful, wild, and unforgettable.

The day started with a float luncheon, followed by the Krewe-wide pre-party, where we got to celebrate the sisterhood and creativity that makes Muses so special. And then—we hit the streets!

If you caught a Muses shoe last night, consider yourself lucky! 👠✨

Already counting down to next year. Laissez les bons temps rouler! 💜💛💚

Here are a few pics to hopefully give you the feel of what it’s like to ride in a MG parade!

So, the last couple of Fridays, I’ve posted pics of the throws from the two riding Krewes I’m in (Krewe of Muses shoes and Krewe of Tucks toilet plungers).

The Krewe of Cork is taking over the French Quarter, and you know I wouldn’t miss a good time! This walking Krewe is all about celebrating vino, so I’ve got 325 cork earrings ready to throw, plus cork necklaces, bracelets, and keychains galore. 🎭✨

As is typical for a walking Krewe, the 400 members break up into their own subgroups and each dresses in their theme of choice (there is a costume contest of course!).

Wish you were here in the Quarter to soak it all in! Laissez les bons temps rouler! 💜💛💚 (aka let the good times roll!?!)

🇺🇸 Leadership Lessons from the Oval Office 🇺🇸

Today, on Presidents Day, I’m reflecting on the leadership lessons we can learn from those who have held the highest office in the country.

Great leaders—whether in the White House or the workplace—share common traits: vision, resilience, and the ability to inspire others. They make tough decisions, navigate uncertainty, and bring people together to work toward a greater goal.

One of my favorite leadership quotes comes from Theodore Roosevelt:
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."

A powerful reminder that leadership isn’t about waiting for the perfect moment—it’s about stepping up, taking action, and making an impact with the resources you have today.

What’s a leadership lesson that has stuck with you? Let’s share and inspire each other in the comments! ⬇️

In last week’s Mardi Gras Moment, I shared the tradition of making handmade throws to be handed off the float by the various Mardi Gras krewes (and I shared pics of the shoes that are in process for Muses).

Although these trays look rather innocuous, they will be transformed into works of art to be thrown during the Krewe of Tucks ride on the Saturday of Mardi Gras weekend. I have two friends from NYC who ride with me every year and they come down twice leading up to the parade to help decorate 150 plungers and 25 or so toilet brushes. Yes, that’s right, we’re handing out hand-decorated toilet tools!

I’ve shared a couple pics from last year to give you an idea of how they end up (vs. how they start as shown in the trays)! It’s also a lot of work, but DARN FUN!

An exciting day yesterday in Los Angeles working with the leadership team Arc on upping your communications. It’s been a pleasure seeing the leadership program I helped develop come to life and enhance the lives of not just the leaders, but the hundreds of employees who work for them (and the hundreds they are in contact with)!!

SUCH a great company!

It’s so easy to love what I do when I work with such great clients! Onward and upward my friends!

Innovation is rarely a straight line to success. More often than not, it takes a few detours—sometimes straight through Failure Town. And that’s not just okay—it’s necessary.

The best ideas don’t emerge fully formed. They’re built through trial, error, and persistence. No one gets it right the first time, and the leaders who foster true innovation know this: failure isn’t the enemy—it’s part of the process.

This is why creating room for failure is crucial in any organization. Not failure due to carelessness or lack of effort, but the kind of failure that comes from bold ideas, experimentation, and the willingness to push boundaries.

Want to lead for innovation? It starts with making sure your team feels safe enough to take those leaps—knowing that even if they miss, they’ll learn, adapt, and keep going.
