Tiki for the Modern Age
Hip Tiki was born as an offshoot of my brand, Hip Arcade. For the longest time I found it fun and fascinating to mash up and create items that we as fans of pop culture, gaming, comics and more wanted but were never available. Whether it was lack of interest from companies or simply not wanting to do merchandising, Hip Arcade was meant to fill in that gap.
But then I found myself spending more and more time at tiki bars and sketching the ephemera that decorated and filled these magical time capsules. Ideas started to flow in in regards to what I wanted to create for myself as something wholly unique but that could possibly be of interest to others as well! And so Hip Tiki was born! Still very much a part of Hip Arcade, but just unique enough to merit its own page.
While there is still a strong overlap in what I’m trying to do with both brands in regards to modernizing the culture, Hip Tiki still respects Tiki’s roots, history and past. And so that is why this page exists. Keeping it clean and lean. And if you’re ever interested in seeing what other pop culture work we do, check out Hip Arcade any time.
