That spiral in your head is not helping you move forward.

When stress takes over, most people try to fight negative thoughts with positive ones. Barbara Jenks takes a different approach. Do something physical.

Shift your body and your brain follows. Movement interrupts the loop, brings you back to the present, and helps you reset with clarity.

It is not about forcing better thoughts. It is about changing your state.

Be yourself. Then do the work to get better.

Growth is not about changing who you are. It is about improving how you lead.

Great leaders do not just focus on what they say. They pay attention to how they listen.

Strategic listening is one of the most overlooked leadership skills. It is not passive. It shapes trust, sharpens decisions, and changes the direction of conversations in real time.

If you want stronger outcomes, start by listening with intent.

Awareness. Listening. Word choice.

Most leaders focus on what to say. The ones who stand out pay closer attention to how they show up in the moment.

Real-time awareness and intentional listening shape trust, credibility, and better outcomes in every conversation.

If you want to lead more effectively, start by changing how you listen.

You're in the Zoom waiting room. Heart pounding. Everything you prepared just vanished.

The problem isn't your nerves. It's the story you're telling yourself.

"I'm going to bomb this. I'll never get hired."

Or.

"I crushed major wins at my last role. This company needs what I bring."

Which story wins? The one you choose.

After 20 years in HR, I've watched qualified candidates bomb interviews because they let the wrong story take over. Underdogs land roles because they manage the narrative first.

When you feel yourself spiraling, take a breath. Reset the story. Redirect to what you've accomplished.

Your communication with yourself matters just as much as what you say out loud.

What story are you telling yourself?

Most communication problems aren’t about conflict. They come from vague language, assumptions, and missing details.

The Meta Model gives you a practical way to catch what’s unclear, ask better questions, and get to what actually matters. When you stop guessing and start clarifying, conversations become more productive and decisions get sharper.

If you want to lead with more precision, take a closer look. Check the blog link in the comment.

Getting feedback on your speech is where most people tighten up.

But improvement does not happen in your head. It happens out loud. Trying, stumbling, adjusting, and trying again.

Yes, it is messy. Yes, it is uncomfortable. That is the process.

If you want to be sharp when it matters, you have to be willing to sound rough when it doesn’t. Check the link in the comments for more.

Most people think they’re listening.
What they’re actually doing is waiting, fixing, judging, or drifting.

These small habits quietly break trust in every conversation.

The shift is simple but not easy: stay present, stay curious, and listen to understand not to respond.

Fix just one of these and everything changes. Check the blog link in the comments.
