Welcome Everyone to Cynthia Elder Caregiver Services!
After working 25+ years in NYC with a 3-hour commute, I moved from NY to Louisville for my Second Life and to be closer to my family in Colorado. I am available for Elder Caregiver Services with personalized hands-on care, mobility support, light housekeeping, errands, and house management. I welcome the opportunity to explore how I can help your loved one part-time at $35 - $45/hour plus reimbursement for errands mileage. I am available as a driver for activities, transporting to/from appointments, groceries, etc., and I have a 2017 Ford Escape. I have rehabilitated both my children who were in a serious automobile accident with their father which has provided me with insights above and beyond most parents with healthy children. Since my older parents passed when I was a young adult, I also have experience with Cancer, Alzheimer’s, and Dementia. I am familiar with personal care for Severe Traumatic Brain Injury, Dementia, Alzheimer's, Neurological conditions (MS), Metastatic Cancer and Cancer Basil Cell Carcinoma, Macular Degeneration, Lymes Disease, Sensory Integration Disorder, ADD/ADHD, and several therapies related to the rehabilitation and maintenance of function. When I first moved to Colorado, I worked at Brookdale Senior Living Center because the focus was on Alzheimer's, Dementia, and Cancer where I have experience. I have spent most of my experience in and out of hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and assisted living by supporting family members and others outside of the family. Since I have been in Colorado, I have been caregiving for families in Louisville, Superior, Boulder, Broomfield, Lafayette, Arvada, and Westminster. Currently, I am assisting families with the following:
* Personalized hands-on care, Medication Management, Daily Living Activities (Showering, Toileting if needed, Clothes Changing, Brushing Teeth, etc.)
* Companionship
* Mobility Assistance, Walks, PT for strengthening, balance and muscle-building
* Driver for groceries, errands, doctor appts
* Meal Preparation, Light housekeeping, Laundry, Home Organization
* Mental Acuity Exercises (Book reading, crossword puzzles, word games, hands-on puzzles, Scrabble, etc.)
* Family Vacation Eldercare (staying up to two weeks with a client while their family takes a complete break from the day-to-day caretaking)
* Social Outreach ( I take my clients to the Louisville Senior Rec Center lunches and facilitate discussions)
* Technology assistance with desktops, laptops, Nooks & Kindles, Android and iPhones)
* Pet care (For one bedridden client, I took care of 3 dogs, 3 cats and 10 rabbits)
* Garden Care (Vegetable Gardens, Regular Garden care and watering)
