This approach can work. Active-duty military units have used this strategy for decades. As managers take on retention as a critical task, you should see a positive impact.

One lagging indicator of the "new normal" may be the cost of office space. It actually might be the one business expense that starts to come down. Frankly, this is one that we expected to see sooner, but as leases begin to roll over, the impact on pricing should become clear.
