Thank you to everyone who joined us today for our Lunch & Learn: The Long-Term Care Puzzle - Choices for the Future
We were grateful to hear from Aileene MacEachern of Life Care Center of the North Shore and Marnie Moore of Bradley Moore Primason Cuffe & Weber, who shared valuable insights on navigating long-term care planning, understanding care options, and preparing for the future.

Attendees learned about the differences between custodial and skilled care, common misconceptions about long-term care, the realities of aging in place, assisted living, skilled nursing care, and the importance of planning ahead with essential documents such as Health Care Proxies, Powers of Attorney, and Wills. One of the biggest takeaways: long-term care planning is about more than finances, it's about ensuring your wishes are known, reducing stress on loved ones, and maintaining control over future decisions.

A special thank you to our presenters for sharing their expertise and helping attendees better understand the many pieces of the long-term care puzzle.

And of course, thank you to our fellow Chamber member, for providing a delicious lunch enjoyed by all!

This morning, we were proud to welcome business, nonprofit, and community leaders to our 2026 State of the Region Breakfast Forum for an inspiring morning of collaboration, connection, and a look at what's ahead for our region.

A highlight of the morning was recognizing Jim Cowdell, recently retired Executive Director of Economic Development & Industrial Corporation of Lynn, for more than 20 years of dedication to the Greater Lynn Chamber of Commerce and the Lynn community. We were honored to present Jim with a special thank-you in recognition of his lasting impact and unwavering commitment to Lynn.

Attendees also heard valuable updates from:
πŸ”Ή Mayor Jared Nicholson, The City of Lynn
πŸ”Ή Molly Cohen, Superintendent, Lynn Public Schools
πŸ”Ή Kristin To***co, Assistant Director of Curriculum & Instruction, LPS
πŸ”Ή Dr. Shannon Gardner, Executive Director of Innovation & Grants Management, LPS
πŸ”Ή Dr. James McDonald, Assistant Director of Postsecondary Readiness & Strategic Partnerships, LPS
πŸ”Ή Alison Nieto, Nahant Town Administrator
πŸ”Ή Nicholas Connors, Swampscott Town Administrator

One of the biggest takeaways from the morning was the incredible opportunity for our business community to partner with Lynn Public Schools. With more than 16,000 students across 29 schools, LPS is expanding career pathways, internships, early college opportunities, and work-based learning experiencesβ€”and they're looking for local employers to help shape the next generation of talent. Whether your business is in healthcare, engineering, business, education, technology, criminal justice, clean energy, or another industry, there are meaningful ways to get involved.

We also learned about exciting economic development projects happening throughout Lynn, along with important updates on infrastructure, housing, climate resilience, and community priorities in Nahant and Swampscott.

A sincere thank you to all of our speakers, attendees, and community partners for making this year's forum such a valuable conversation. Together, we're building a stronger future for our businesses, our students, and our communities.

🌟 Shoutout to Lynn Tech TV Media students and Gary Rosario for capturing the event. Check out some of the photos captured - stay tuned for video coming soon!
