New Bill Proposes Tax Relief for Boat Buyers

Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) recently introduced HR 7222, the No Tax on Boat Loan Interest Act, in the US House of Representatives. This legislation aims to help buyers of American-made boats by making boat ownership more affordable and supporting marine manufacturers and retailers.

Key features of the bill:
• Up to $10,000 annual interest deduction on boat loans
• Available through 2028
• Phases out for those earning over $100,000 (or $200,000 for joint filers)
• Applies to loans booked after December 31, 2024
