Sometimes we get so caught up in the momentum of our work, especially when it's something we enjoy, that we unintentionally neglect self-care.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but get up from your workstation today! Stretch your body, move your legs, and give those feet a break.

I sat at my desk for so long last night that I noticed my feet were a little swollen. A reminder that even when we're doing what we love, our bodies still need attention.

I'm placing a sticky note on my desk and setting an alarm every 45 minutes as a reminder to stretch and move.

And what better opportunity to turn on some music and DANCE?

Remember, RESTING IN BETWEEEN WORK, IS WORK!

Saturday Night Leadership Reflection

It took many lessons and seasons of self-discovery to learn that the most important relationship I will ever have is the one I have, first and fully, with MYSELF.

As a business owner, consultant, and career coach, I've poured my energy into people, organizations, and situations that demanded more than I had to give. I did the same in my personal situationships.

Full of swag, eager to fix, please, and deliver results, I sometimes overlooked my own needs while making sure everyone else's were met.

I had to examine how I showed up, recognize my patterns, and accept that even the strongest leaders can become emotionally depleted.

Here's the truth: Having an abundance of knowledge, compassion, and expertise doesn't mean everyone deserves unlimited access to your time, energy, or peace.

Self-leadership requires boundaries, emotional accountability, self-acceptance, and the willingness to extend the same care to yourself that you so freely give to others.

I've learned that I can lead with empathy without carrying everyone's burdens. I can be of service without sacrificing my well-being, and I can love what I do without losing myself in the process.

GEEEEEESH! The greatest investment I've ever made is the one I've made in MYSELF. And the return? Peace, purpose, and the freedom to show up authentically!

BABY, my spirit is on fire, and these feet are moving! Sometimes the best leadership move is to step away from the demands, turn up the music, and DANCE! 🕺🏾
