Something powerful happens when a leadership team takes the time to understand how they work best together. And for this Nordstrom team, our work together created space to build trust, have more candid conversations, and recognize each person’s strengths.

Many high performers have a difficult time talking about what they do well.

They downplay their contributions, hesitate to speak up, or assume their work speaks for itself.

But when people understand their strengths and can communicate them with confidence, they show up differently. They contribute more openly, lead with greater intention, and create a bigger impact on the teams around them.

That’s the heart of Know Thyself (and Brag About It).

This interactive workshop helps leaders identify their strengths, own their experiences, and communicate their value with authenticity through guided reflection and storytelling exercises.

It’s one of our favorite sessions because the transformation is immediate. When people can clearly articulate the value they bring, they lead with more confidence and purpose.

What might you notice if you gave yourself five minutes a day?

For the next 30 days, take a few minutes to check in with yourself and write down what comes up.

Don’t worry about having the right answer. Just pause long enough to pay attention.

After the first week, look back at what you wrote. What are you starting to notice? What feels different from day one?

Keep going, then revisit your notes after two weeks and again at the end of the month.

You may begin to see things that weren't obvious while you were in the middle of them.

The 30-Day Begin Now Challenge is an opportunity to create a little more space for yourself and get curious about what you find there.

Your next step might already be there. Give yourself the space to notice it.

As kids, being coached can feel pretty straightforward. Someone sees something you can improve, gives you feedback, and you get back to work.

As adults, we can make it a lot more complicated.

Feedback can be uncomfortable. It can also be useful.

The next time someone gives you feedback, try asking yourself: What might they be seeing that I can’t see yet?

You don’t have to agree with everything you hear. But staying open to what you might learn can make you a better leader, teammate, and coach to others.

One of the most important leadership lessons didn't come from a boardroom. It came from a soccer field.

When Malika was 5 years old, she noticed something that changed the way she viewed growth forever.

The coach wasn't spending the most time praising the strongest players. He was challenging them. And that lesson stuck.

The leaders who grow the most aren't looking for constant reassurance. They're looking for coaching that helps them reach their potential.

Feedback isn't always comfortable, but when it's delivered with care, it becomes one of the greatest gifts we can receive. As leaders, we must be willing to use feedback to become better.
