IMPORTANT SCHEDULING ANNOUNCEMENT...

Just a reminder that we will not be holding our usual event on Thursday of this week. We will be open on Friday night instead. We always do this for Thanksgiving, and for Christmas if it falls on one of our usual event nights. Mostly because those are the two days when people are likely to be busy with many other aid events, or with family. For all other holidays we do maintain our usual schedule.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and much love to you all! ❤️

Blankets, blankets, blankets! Tis' the season for blankets, as we watched actual snow falling this morning, to help our unsheltered homeless friends in their efforts to stay alive. If you have any spare blankets we would love to put them to good use. You can drop them off any day 8am-8pm at the Wash Street laundromat (1237 Elm St.) or contact us if you have a bunch and need us to pick them up. It would also be a huge help if anyone can find a link for bulk blankets on Amazon (10 or more) which are warm and full sized, instead of just "throw blankets".

Meanwhile: Such a huge thanks to everyone who has been so generous lately in helping with our "pizza fund" (especially when we needed a fill-in meal) and our Amazon wishlist. You have really made a tremendous difference in the lives of so many people who really needed your help. Loads of Love to you all, and please know that your help is very much appreciated. ❤️❤️❤️

For way too long these proven programs have had to hide in the shadows, due to general ignorance about their successes in maintaining a healthy community, and to the general stigma surrounding drugs which are consumed with needles (rather than just smoking or drinking).

UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY: This Monday the usual provider of our shared family/community meals will be unavailable. We are prepared to just "order pizza" with our "pizza fund". We do have enough for the base cost, and I will personally pitch in for a fair tip if needed. However, if you're the type of person who likes to make food for lots of people, and possibly a "night owl" who would like to join us in sharing that food while getting to meet our struggling neighbors who will so deeply benefit from your generosity, then this is your chance!

If you are interested: We currently share meals with 60-75+ of our local family and guests at each of our events. Simple foods are best (lasagne , mac & cheese, soup & sandwich, etc.). This helps us to accommodate the most amount of people with the least amount of work for our food sharing volunteers. Many of the people we serve struggle with dental issues, so softer foods are best. We do operate on a "late night" schedule. Food can be dropped off around 10:30pm, or you can stay to help us share it with our invited guests. We do have chafing dishes to keep hot food warm, though please let us know in advance about that, and please bring sterno cans since we are currently out of those. Or you can just bring non-heater foods, like sandwiches, pre-cooked meals, and so forth. We can provide basic drinks and snacks, but you are welcome to provide your own if you wish to do so.

OTHER WAYS TO HELP: If you'd rather help by simply donating to our "pizza fund", or through our Amazon "wish list", then please do so using the links below. Also you can always drop off donations of food or drinks (packaged, non-perishable, non-refrigerated/frozen, with no need for cooking or additional ingredients) seven days a week at the Wash Street laundromat on Elm Street. Along with gently used and seasonally appropriate adult clothing, shoes, camping supplies, hygiene supplies, or any other items which might be of use to our less fortunate neighbors who are stuck on the streets.
