Making lemonade from lemons.

One of the bright sides of the pandemic was outdoor dining (just ask Mr Poodle).

The “huts” really kept the street vibe and community spirit going- like my favorite spots abroad.

When restructions started it was curious to see how restaurants that went all in and made an effort to create an on brand and charming outdoor environment were busier than ones that had a slapdash set of tables like they were doing you a favor to dine there.

Think about that effort in everything you do with your business and your customers will reward you.

Rumor has it that these novel environments will be leaving NYC soon and I’m pretty bummed about it.

Are you looking for a pop of joy in your day?

I was listening to a meditation last week. Even though I’m not the meditation “type” I was able to take the gist and spin it in a quickie way that works for me.

Maybe it will work for you too.

It’s really simple.

Think about a person, pet, thing that brings you joy.

Imagine your smile, your feeling when you’re around that person or thinking about them.

Take that feeling and smile and emanate it to others. Your inner vibe will shift.

It works particularly well on greetings and setting the tone for meetings.

Your joy and love will will affect the vibe of those you’re with. It also helps with your confidence.

It might seem a little woo-woo but I’m making an effort to put this simple shift into practice.

Peaceful view from the back of the Elk Refuge.

You can see some little dots of elk in the distance but we were actually looking for the big horn sheep who usually graze near there.

No luck this time but my husband did find a cool statue of a big horn wearing googles near the mountain (next slide).

Being here is so tranquil, leaving time to open up tothe creative process and have the space to listen to your own inner voice.

No matter how beautiful, I could never live here full time… the native New Yorker in me needs to get back to the big city, it’s diversity, and options.

But my other life out west does hit the spot sometimes.
