What happens when you pour everything into a dream — and it doesn’t work out?
Where do you find the courage to get back up and do it again?
I think about two things every single day that keep me moving forward.
The first comes from my time in the military.
When a pilot crashes during a training exercise, the commanding officer doesn’t let them sit with it.
The order goes straight to the instructor:
“Get him right back up in the air after the debriefing.”
Not next week. Not after they’ve processed it for a month.
Right back up.
Because the longer that crash stays in your mind, the more power it has over you.
We can’t let our crashes — our failed businesses, our setbacks, our hard seasons — stay in the forefront too long either.
We debrief.
We learn.
And we get back at it.
The second thing I remind myself daily:
“We are all born looking like our parents. But we will die looking like our decisions.”
Every choice. Every risk.
Every comeback.
It’s writing the story of who I become.
I’ve poured everything into dreams that didn’t work out. I’ve felt that crash personally.
But I’m still flying.
If you’re sitting in a crash right now — family, friends, anyone going through it — debrief it, learn from it, and get back up.
Your decisions are still being written.
Sending love to everyone fighting their way back today. ❤️
