From relocating satellites to removing hazards and putting assets where they need to be, in-space mobility opens the door to opportunities that once weren’t even on the table.

As Troy M. Morris shared on the Balerion Space Ventures podcast, “Once you can start moving assets in space, things that were not possible… are right on the table.”

That’s the future KMI Space is working toward: making space more accessible, more capable, and clear for all.

Thank you to Balerion Space Ventures and Aidan Daoussis for the conversation!

What does the future of space look like, and how can it make life better here on Earth?

In a recent interview with Authority Magazine, KMI Space Co-Founder & CSO Adam Kall shared his perspective on the future of the space industry, from reusable and serviceable spacecraft to the infrastructure that will support a growing economy beyond Earth.

At KMI, we believe the future of space isn’t about leaving Earth behind. It’s about building the infrastructure that helps make life better here.

Troy M. Morris, KMI Space Co-Founder & CEO, recently joined FOX 35 Orlando to talk about the growing challenge of space debris and what's next for in-space mobility

During the conversation, Troy shared how KMI’s REACCH technology demonstrated the ability to safely capture unprepared objects in orbit, and how that work is paving the way for future in-space mobility and servicing missions.

As Troy put it: "It's the sci-fi we've always dreamed about, and we're making it a reality."

Always a great day when spaceflight experience meets in-space innovation!

We were excited to welcome retired NASA astronaut Dan Bursch to the KMI Space HQ for a look inside the workshop and a closer look at our REACCH prototype.

A big thank you to Dan for stopping by and to our engineering team for sharing a little of what we’re building to make space more accessible, capable, and clear for all.

As the demand for in-space mobility grows, there’s a growing need for vehicles that can do more than simply reach orbit.

SpaceNews takes a look at five companies developing approaches to satellite removal, including KMI Space and our Laelaps servicing vehicle.

Designed to repeatedly capture, relocate, and deorbit satellites, Laelaps is built around a simple idea: one vehicle, repeated missions.

With our REACCH robotic capture system, Laelaps is designed to capture unprepared objects, lower them to a predictable reentry trajectory, release them, and continue on to the next target. REACCH has already completed 172 capture cycles aboard the International Space Station using NASA’s Astrobee robots.

It’s one step toward a broader vision for Relocation as a Service and a more flexible future for in-space mobility.
