Today, I’m excited to share some big news!

After 27 years with Crown Cork & Seal, I have made the decision to leave my full-time job and pursue Kemps Excavating full time.

This was not an easy decision, but I’m incredibly excited for this next chapter. It’s a chance to invest in my family, grow my business, and provide even more services to our community.

We got the opportunity to make a shed pad for a customer in December. Days were short we worked a lot in the dark with lights. Working in the cold makes everything harder than it needs to be, we lost a track (didn’t get pictures) and lost a tire. We fought through the cold and got it done in time for the shed.

We helped a customer out with their flowerbed. It’s placed on a hill and when it would rain real hard the water rushed across their flower bed and wash the topsoil and mulch away. So we put in an open French drain that doubles as a walkway in front of the flowerbed to catch the water and then ran some pipe to exit it on the side of the flowerbed.

A customer had water leaking in his basement when it rained his downspouts under ground were smashed. We put in new sewer pipe downspouts underground and tied them into the old clay pipe under the sidewalk and exited through the curb. We had to put a new hole in the curb and patch the old hole because the curb lifted. After fixing the water problem from the downspouts we regraded his driveway and laid down some new gravel to get rid of the water puddles.

It’s been a while since we have posted anything but we have been busy and still getting things done. We took on a huge job in August of last year and then went back this march to finish up the topsoil in the back where we took the driveway out. The customer had a company come out and move the garage doors to the front of the garage and add some additions. While they were doing their thing we tore the asphalt driveway out in the back and put in fill dirt and topsoil to make it a yard. Then we cut in and prepped  for a concrete driveway in the front and did some drainage work. The finish product turned out awesome and we loved the challenge! There’s a lot of pictures of this job so I’m gonna make two posts about it. The first post is gonna be the back yard where the old driveway was and now his yard the second post will be where the new driveway is and the drainage upfront.
