You ever think about how powerful words really are?

I mean, a simple sentence can change the whole direction of someone’s life. I’ve seen it happen—one word of encouragement can unlock confidence a person didn’t even know they had. On the flip side, a careless comment can stick with someone for years, making them doubt themselves long after the moment has passed.

It’s wild when you think about it. Words either build or break. They either give life or take it away.

That’s why I try to be intentional with mine. Before I speak, I ask myself: “Will this lift them up or weigh them down?” Because at the end of the day, people may forget the exact words, but they’ll never forget how my words made them feel.

So if you needed the reminder today—speak life. Somebody out there needs it more than you know.

I trust God to lead me.
And I’ve learned to trust myself in following that lead.

There was a time when I second-guessed everything—waiting for the “perfect” sign, the “right” moment, or someone else’s approval. But God reminded me that He doesn’t just guide around me—He guides through me.

It just is.

But most of us never get to that clarity because of the noise—
the opinions, the expectations, the pressures, the fears.

As leaders, the challenge is to step away from the noise long enough to see things as they really are. Not as we hope, not as we fear, not as others demand—but simply as they exist in the present moment.

When you strip away the noise, you find truth.

Too many leaders want to repair things from a distance — to issue orders, assign blame, or delegate the cleanup. But real leadership requires humility.

Some leaders misunderstand the role of leadership.

Even in the harshest environments — even in war — leadership is not about control, domination, or fear. Leadership should inspire. It should challenge. It should hold people accountable and, most importantly, it should train and develop them into their highest potential.

Force is never the way of a true leader. Obedience born from fear is fragile. But willingness and instant obedience born from trust — that’s unbreakable. And trust is earned through consistency, competence, and care.

The battle itself will always bring enough fear. It doesn’t need more from those in charge. Our job is to be the steady hand, the clear voice, the unwavering standard that reminds people who they are and what they’re capable of.

May the best leaders I’ve served under continue to live through me — and may I pass that same strength on to those who will one day do more with the few than most could ever do with the many.
