What’s on the bench: Teachable moment. Don’t ride those little push/electric scooters around town with your new tuba… or any tuba for that matter. Although this was bad, it could have been much worse. Valves were fine (2 pics before, 2 after).

What’s on the bench: *Just because it’s in a case doesn’t mean it can’t get damaged* This Edwards trombone had some bell flare damage occur while in the case. It was set down too aggressively at some point. The first two photos show the creasing/flattening/brimming, and the third shows it after being rolled out. Save yourself some headache and some $$ and handle the horn with great care both in and out of the case!

One of my students was recently involved in a terrible car accident and now faces a long road to recovery. Terrance encapsulates everything you’d ever want (and then some) in a student and person, and I am grateful for his presence in my studio.
