As school buses begin their routes for the first day of school in several parts of the country, we thought we’d look back at this classic Ann White tale. It’s the true story of a school bus, her son Bill, and her husband William. But the star of the story is a now infamous dead cat.

Dr. Ann White shares one of her most popular stories - the true story of a dead cat and how we deal with the unexpected.

Today would have been Ann and William's 54th anniversary. This is the happy couple on their wedding day, March 23, 1963. Ann often referred to William as her “First Husband,” implying a second one could come along at any time. After all, she used to claim, “The only thing we have in common is we got married on the same day.” Enjoy a new video clip on our Twelve Commandments YouTube channel where Ann describes her relationship with her First Husband.

Ten years ago today, Lori, Joel, and I lost our mother, Dr. Ann Threadgill White. She was a wonderful person who we miss dearly. In her memory – and to better continue sharing her legacy – I have started this new page called Twelve Commandments. This page will be dedicated to sharing my mother’s Twelve Commandments for People Who Work With People. I hope it will serve as a reminder of how important positive interactions and relationships are to our lives, and, like our mother, be a source of laughter and smiles. This is her senior yearbook photo as a member of the Cowpens High School Class of 1961. The quote she chose for herself states a belief she developed at an early age and practiced throughout her personal life and career: “The sense of humor is the oil of life’s engine. Without it, the machinery creaks and groans. No lot is so hard, no aspect of things is so grim, but it relaxes before a hearty laugh." (G.S. Merriam) I invite you to like and follow this page and share it with your family and friends. This weekend, I plan to share a video clip of Mama when she was a motivational speaker which I hope will bring you joy. Happy Friday to you! I hope you laugh often and help others laugh today.
