I just found out that this company has been fraudulently charging me for 14 months, over $700. When I tried to contact them to get it refunded, they refuse to answer me. We started an application with this company and then they denied us. They said it was because of CBD we sell. When they charged my account, their designation is almost identical to my actual processor so I didn't catch it for months. RUN away!!!

After I left this review they called me. Not to refund my money but to get me to not claim that it was fraud because they opened for accounts and denied me but did not close them all. Because apparently it's our job to know what they're doing in their computer system.

Still haven't gotten any money back or a promise of any money back

Now they won't even answer my phone calls or text messages

šŸ’°Quick Cash Ideas For šŸ’– Valentine’s Day

At Slice, we totally love love. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, it’s a great time to gear up to make some extra cash. But the question is…how do you make it?

It’s easy enough to get some fast cash ideas for most businesses related to love and relationships. Here are some of the easiest ways to upsell your services:
šŸ’ŸOrder (or make) some last-minute Valentine’s Day treats at your bakery, jewelry shop, or retail business. They always sell well, especially when you have last-minute buyers who can’t find flowers in time.
ā™„ļø Consider offering couples discounts for services at your salon, spa, or restaurant. Most restaurants will have special romantic Valentine’s Day menus, but even having a 2-for-1 drink special at a club can help you sell big bucks!
ā£ļøDon’t be afraid to show some love for singletons. While everyone else is celebrating love, having a Singles Sale can be a smart move for people who are tired of the dating game.
šŸ’˜Consider throwing a matchmaker event at your venue, using drinks or bracelets you sell to hint at clients’ single status.

Dating is one of those universal themes in life, even if you’re not a ā€œdatingā€ person. Slice makes it easier than ever to streamline your sales with our state-of-the-art terminals. And now, we want to turn this over to you. What are your business plans for Valentine’s Day?

Why it seems like all of America’s chains are closing🚫
What does this mean for our communities?

In years past, it was
ā–¶ļø Sears and K-Mart.
ā–¶ļø Party City and Lord & Taylor

Now, we’re hearing about Jo-Ann fabrics going out of business and even more store closures from popular places like Macy’s. Even ā€œsafeā€ businesses like Family ollar and Walgreens has been closing stores.

Why is this happening?
🟄 A large part of it deals with the economy. People don’t have as much spending money as they once did, which means they don’t have the bandwidth to spend the way they used to.
🟄 The internet became the king of the splurge. Stores like Amazon and Etsy have become the most common way to order impulse items like shoes, purses, and even certain supplements. It’s hard to compete with them because it’s hard to convince people to leave their homes.
🟄 Increased costs make it hard to afford rent. Yes, store rents have been skyrocketing. Let’s be honest. It’s not easy to afford rent these days.
🟄 Economic instability has made it harder for businesses to make the leap of faith required to make the jump to a retail space—or even go so far as to keep a store open.

šŸ¤” What does this mean for small businesses?
It means that you’re going to have to focus on community building.

There is a growing void in the market that can be filled by small businesses, but only if you adapt to what people want. It’s all about getting that human connection you typically can’t get online.

Now, let’s turn it to you. How are these closures affecting your neighborhood? Do you think small businesses can fill the gap?

Get your ā˜•ļøcoffee shop staff more tips with šŸ€Clover!

šŸ¤”Did you know that only 27 percent of all people tip their coffee shop baristas? Baristas generally don’t make much. In fact, they generally make minimum wage, which isn’t a living wage by any means. Baristas need high tips to be happy on the job.

Profit margins are rarely ever enough to make ends meet while paying baristas $50,000 or so. So, how can you boost those tips?
It’s simple: use šŸ€Clover to make tips a cinch.
šŸ‘‡Here’s how :šŸ‘‡

āœ”ļøUse Clover’s online ordering platform to get online orders with tips. You can prompt buyers to tip your barista from the platform.

āœ”ļøHave an automated tip prompt as part of your credit card checkout. Tips are easy to implement. This is also the fastest way to increase tip rates, too.

āœ”ļøPick higher suggested tips on the tip screen. People might be annoyed about ā€œtipflation,ā€ but it works. The average tip for coffee shops now stands at 18 percent, slightly higher than a restaurant tip.

āœ”ļøUse customer-facing displays to make your buyers feel like they’re in more control. Believe it or not, having a customer-facing display can make it easier for people to feel like they’re getting privacy.

āœ”ļøGive customers a way to rate their service. What does this have to do with tipping? Simple: unhappy customers do not tip well. If your baristas are getting unusually low tips, there may be a bigger issue at heart that you should be aware of.

šŸ‘‰Here’s the best part: with Clover, you’re not just boosting your baristas’ tips—you’re also creating a better experience for your customers. Happy baristas mean better service, and better service means loyal customers who keep coming back for more.

šŸ’¬ What do you think? Have you tried using digital tools like Clover to increase tips in your shop? Share your experiences below—we’d love to hear from you!

Dining Out: Are We Being Ripped Off?

If you’re like most consumers, you may have noticed that restaurant food (and fast food) skyrocketed in price.
Even ā€œaffordableā€ food got to be a bit too expensive, but is it all corporate greed?

Well, yes and no. There’s only so much that people can stretch their dollars. Here’s the true breakdown of a typical restaurant.

šŸ”ŗCost of Goods Sold (COGS) (28-35%): This includes raw food ingredients, beverages, and sometimes packaging. It's usually the largest expense. Fluctuations in commodity prices (meat, produce, etc.) directly impact COGS.
šŸ”ŗLabor (25-35%): This encompasses wages, salaries, benefits (health insurance, paid time off), payroll taxes, and worker's compensation. Labor costs are rising due to minimum wage increases and a competitive job market.
šŸ”ŗRent/Occupancy (6-10%): This includes rent or mortgage payments, property taxes, and maintenance. Location plays a huge role; rent in major cities is significantly higher.
šŸ”ŗOperating Expenses (10-15%): This is a broad category including utilities (electricity, gas, water), marketing, insurance, cleaning supplies, equipment maintenance, and administrative costs.
šŸ”ŗProfit (3-10%): This is what's left after all expenses are paid. Profit margins in the restaurant industry are notoriously thin.

Most people don’t realize how small profit margins are for businesses. It’s up to you to decide whether or not you want to make that leap. Even so, there seems to be a debate on whether restaurants are getting greedy—especially with the tip demands.

šŸ¤”Do you think restaurants are trying to survive, or is it a matter of company greed?
