I grew up in Memphis, TN and had planned to be either a commercial real-estate developer or interior designer. However, my curiosity about the natural world took control of my academic career, and my BA, MA, and PhD all focused on forensic science. I received my BA in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee, MA in Anthropology from the Louisiana State University (LSU), and PhD in Geography a
nd Anthropology from LSU. For my MA, I specialized in the decomposition of concealed remains. For my PhD, I studied vulture scavenging in Texas and GPS tracked vultures. I live and breathe forensic science. Forensic science is both my career and hobby. My dedication to forensic science resulted in over $60,000 in graduate funding including a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant. I was a visiting scientist at the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and Texas State Forensic Anthropology Center. I received the Angel Award from the Anthropology Section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and gave a TEDx talk as a result of my research on vulture scavenging in forensic settings. While working on my doctorate on vulture scavenging, I started to receive requests for assistance with vulture and real estate cases. Most of them were forensic vulture scavenging cases, but some were unique and involved vultures interfering with businesses or a homeowner seeking mapping assistance for legal issues. As the number of requests grew, my passion for vultures, forensic science, mapping, and research transformed from a hobby into a business. I have had the honor of working with numerous universities, the federal government, multi billion dollar corporations, law enforcement agencies across the US, and the general public. No case is too big or small. Each case gets my undivided attention and a thorough analysis. Pharr Forensic Consulting, LLC values integrity, thoroughness, and accuracy.
