🌵 Arizona fun fact: Canyon Lake is looking a little different right now!
We went out today to see the drawdown, and it was **wild** to see no boats on the water or at the marina. The shoreline looks completely different.
The lake is estimated to be down **about 231 inches—that’s roughly 19 feet—since the lowering began September 16.** That’s the change you’re seeing in these photos! 😳
And those round structures sticking out of the lakebed? They’re normally underwater fish habitat, kind of like an artificial reef. It was so cool to see something that’s usually hidden beneath the water. 🐟
SRP is lowering Canyon Lake by about 54 feet in total for dam safety inspections and maintenance, then plans to refill it when the work is done.
**What’s the lowest you’ve ever seen Canyon Lake?**
