Loved seeing speak on his many areas of expertise which mainly focus on getting things done. His latest book đź“• Procrastination Proof has ton of bite size chapters with great ideas đź’ˇ and perspective shifts so that we stop waiting, delaying and avoiding and instead start taking more action.

Really enjoyed this read. Now I’m off to go do something

Ever feel awkward in a sales conversation or a high stakes conversation when there’s a long pause?

And you feel this need to fill the space with worthless energy or information, something that may lower your status

This is what happens with professional service providers when there’s an objection, or talking about price

Or maybe even the conversation gets uncomfortable

Because we have this overwhelming need to be liked, but that comes at a cost

If you want to be seen as the expert, you need to take command of key conversations, without coming off as arrogant

But establishing boundaries, articulating your ideas, strategically pausing and asking great questions are the skills that help you establish that status

Without it, you’re JUST a vendor, JUST and expense and the client will not see your value

Which is why they will dismiss your services as an expense

It’s always about perspective and leadership when guiding customers through decisions

This is one of those skills

When you can organize your thoughts, listen intently, stay curious, and properly present information back to clients

Especially when they don’t seem convinced, when they are pushing back.

It works wonders. It’s not always about winning the argument, or responding with more information

It’s a dance, which requires a lot of adjusting, gathering context and showing different perspectives so the client sees things differently

The more you can practice these skills, the more successful outcomes you’ll get.

Why I Recommend Positive Intelligence by Shirzad Chamine

This book focuses on something most people overlook. Your mindset shapes how you show up, perform, and handle pressure.

Chamine introduces the idea of internal “saboteurs.” These are the patterns of thinking that create doubt, stress, and hesitation. Many people operate with these patterns running in the background without realizing it.

What stands out is how practical the book is.

It gives you a framework to identify those patterns, interrupt them, and build a stronger and more resilient way of thinking.

In my experience, both personally and through coaching others, I’ve seen how often people have the right plan and still struggle to follow through.

This book helps you become more aware of that gap and gives you tools to work through it.

If you care about growth, performance, and showing up at a higher level, this is a book worth adding to your list.

Nine months after leaving a 15-year career…
I ended up in the emergency room.

Twice.

Nothing was physically wrong.

It was fear.
Uncertainty.
Doubt.

What I didn’t realize at the time…
was that my fear of failure didn’t come from nowhere.

It was conditioned.

By:
→ Family & upbringing
→ Education
→ Society’s definition of success
→ Money
→ Social comparison
→ The words I was using on myself

That’s the loop.

And most people never question it.

FAILBLAZER is about breaking that loop.

Because failure isn’t the problem…
it’s how we’ve been taught to see it.

Failure doesn’t define you. It refines you.

Most professionals that sell a product or service rush to solve too early. Big mistake.

This is the moment where the real sale is set up.

The “brain dump” is where your client unloads everything: their situation, their frustrations, the context behind the problem.

Your job? Don’t interrupt it. Guide it.

Let them expand. Let them clarify. Let them hear themselves.

Because the more they articulate the problem, the more real it becomes and the clearer your solution can land.

Great discovery calls are exactly for their meant to accomplish, discover about the prospect’s problem at a deeper level

I went to my dad’s house last night to spend the night. When I woke up, he was still at his desk. It was 2am. Tax returns open on his screen.

He’s Completely locked in. And he seemed like he was still behind.

The image stuck with me.

Today I was coaching a member of our accounting community, and at the end of our call I ask, “What are your main priorities for the next 30 days?”

The answer in a nutshell was “survive the next two weeks.”

Every year, the professionals I work with in the tax and accounting space go through the exact same thing. No matter how much they prepare, the busy season has a way of creeping up and making everything feel like it’s on the verge of falling apart.

The hours get longer. Personal plans get cancelled. Weekends disappear. Mental and physical health start taking a back seat. And work-life balance stops being balanced at all.

I’m not the one doing the returns. But I’m in the industry. I have family members in it. I have colleagues in it. And I feel the pressure they carry, maybe not on my shoulders, but close enough to know how heavy it gets.

Chaos has a way of showing up no matter how prepared you are. That’s not a planning problem. That’s just the nature of the season.

But I figured it was time to stop just acknowledging how hard it is and actually look at how we can reframe the way we navigate it.

I put together a framework for exactly this. It’s called the CALM Framework.

Four steps built for the moments when everything feels like too much and you still have to show up.

I didn’t grow up confident. I grew up confused.

New country. New language. Constant misunderstandings.
What felt like jokes to others felt like attacks to me… and I didn’t have the tools to handle it.

So I reacted the only way I knew how — with anger.

It wasn’t until one moment… one fight… one conversation with my brother…
that everything shifted.

That changed my life.

Most people don’t need more information — they need a new perspective.

If you’ve ever felt misunderstood, frustrated, or triggered by how people treat you… this story is for you.

Just imagine what it would feel like to work with a strategic advisor you can have unlimited access to. Just imagine being able to live anxiety-free because you have the certainty of every business decision that you make and how it could impact your financial future. Just imagine being able to have access to your books and your numbers and your business with clarity and accuracy so that you can help your business scale and grow with confidence.

This is what Alex Hiller, a member of our Reframe community, changed in his model when he realized that what his clients did not just want was compliance; they wanted access to him, to his advisory, to his ability to answer questions whenever they were faced with major decisions in their business. This was a game changer for him. Watch the full video on YouTube (link in bio).

Blair Enns, who is a renowned author of the book "Win Without Pitching" and the other book "The Four Conversations", has written before on the power of metaphors.

One of the examples of metaphors he uses for selling is that buying is like changing; therefore, selling is change management.

If we believe that the buying journey is similar to the journey we take when we're looking to approach change, then the service of being an expert for that buyer is to help them navigate through that change.

There are huge roles that take place, especially in the emotions that appear inside the sale.
