Bottle feeding can look very different from one baby to another. 🍼💛 Newborns typically feed frequently, while the time between feeds gradually increases as babies grow. By 6–12 months, milk/formula feeds are usually combined with solid foods, so the number of milk feeds can change over time.

The most important thing is to follow your baby's hunger and fullness cues rather than trying to make every feed fit a strict schedule. Babies may take different amounts at different feeds, and it's okay if their routine isn't exactly the same every day.

If you're using bottles, remember that they can contain either bre.ast milk or formula, and bottle feeding should be responsive—let baby take breaks and stop when they show signs of being full rather than encouraging them to finish the bottle.

Around 6 months, you can begin introducing a cup, while gradually reducing reliance on bottles. The AAP recommends completing the transition away from bottles around 12–18 months.

Every baby has their own needs, so if you're unsure whether your baby is getting enough milk or you're concerned about feeding amounts or growth, check with your pediatrician. 💕👶

A crying newborn can leave even the calmest mama wondering, “What do you need?” 🥺🤍

Start with the basics—hunger, a wet diaper, gas, temperature, or tiredness. Then try simple soothing techniques like holding and rocking, swaddling safely, skin-to-skin contact, gentle white noise, or offering a feed/pacifier.

And remember: you don’t have to make the crying stop instantly. Sometimes your baby simply needs to feel your warmth, hear your voice, and know you’re there.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, it’s okay to place your baby safely on their back in their crib and take a short break. Never shake a baby. If your newborn’s crying seems unusual, persistent, or comes with other concerning symptoms, contact your pediatrician.
