S*X -Love -Freud and biz - Valentine Day post ❤️

According to Sigmund Freud, there are only two basic drives that motivate all thoughts, emotions, and behavior - 1️⃣s*x and 2️⃣aggression.

Yap,😏

This guy was the founder of psychoanalysis, after all, and although I agree with many of his assumptions, this one never made sense to me!

Let me share with you what I believe is really motivates us and how this realization can make or break you in business...

In one word: LOVE! ❤️❤️❤️

Yes, unconditional love is the most powerful force in the universe, (Freud you got it all wrong my friend )😜

Remember a time when you felt the happiest - either you gave something (which is an act of love) or you received something (perceived love).

Sometimes, we do things to receive attention or validation because it feels like love, even when it isn't.

Drugs, casual s*x, fame, likes on instegram... people do everything to feel (FAKE) love for a moment …

I truly believe that our greatest desire is to receive unconditional love (acceptance) and to share true love with others.

Love is also connection, acceptance, empathy, joy, growth, community, significance, passion, meaning and so much more.. These are the things that really matter and really impact our happiness!

What does this have to do with our business you ask? 😜

First off, it's Valentine's Day, and a good day to remind everyone that love is the foundation of any successful business (and life)! ⚡️🙌❤️

When you love your clients (and future clients) and want to give them your service or product as an act of love, they sense it! you are basically providing the biggest need they have- to feel seen, understood, accepted - LOVED!

Why you shouldn't quit your 9-5 if you want to start your business?! ... YET.

I know you hear it all the time, "Leave your 9-5 and start your own business"! (The Gurus are whispering through another sponsored YouTube AD..)

"The Lamborghinis will follow" you think to yourself ...

"I need to quit to go all in! “ you think to yourself

Although for some people, it may work out, this isn't the case for most and might result in anxiety and sleepless nights 🌚.

Look, you don't have to quit your job to start a business.

You actually NEED your job to start a business.

You need CASH FLOW to invest in all the tools and resources necessary to grow without putting so much pressure on making money.

If you're worried about making money, you won't be able to think LONG TERM

As a result, you make bad decisions

Potential Clients will feel your desperate energy and won't be sold on your service 🤷‍♀️

and that is, my friend, the easiest way to give up and go back to your 9-5, feeling defied!!

So what can you do?

⚡️Take your job as a tool to help bring your dream to life.

⚡️Take advantage of the fact you have a paycheck coming in for doing something that doesn't take a lot of brainpower!

⚡️After you've tested your idea and you can replace your income from your job, you can leave.

⚡️Invest the time and effort into building your biz right - you'll have the rest of your life to enjoy it.

What's another six months or a year?

⁠So a lot has happened since I left my main IG account on "seen" and decided to take a break from social media (or was forced to by a world pandemic, ya know, poteto/potato 😅).⁠
⁠
↩️Going back to 2020, within one week, my whole industry had completely shut down and all of my shows were canceled one after another.⁠
⁠
Other musicians decided to take their talent online but it just didn't work for me⁠
⁠
Performing and DJing has always been about bringing people together, and doing so in an empty room felt so disconnected.⁠
⁠
The plan was to feel sorry for myself for one weekend, and then move on by Monday.😏⁠
⁠
So I did.. ⁠
⁠
💥I woke up that Monday and knew it was time to start and suck at something new all over again⁠ !💥and I am so happy I did that!⁠
⁠
💫In the past year and a half, I learned, I tried new things, I failed, I lost money, I got scammed, I tried again, had success, failed again, and then had even bigger success!⁠
⁠
💫I have learned that there is always going to be unexpected sh$t happening when we least expect it but we can always choose whether to sink or pivot, learn or die.⁠💫⁠

⁠👉🏻In these crazy times of uncertainty, it is our choice how we respond and how quickly we learn and develop new skills.⁠

💫There is so much opportunity in this new world and there has never been a better time to THRIVE and go after our dreams! (who said we could only have one? 🤩)⁠

💫The outside world is beyond our control, but we have complete control over ourselves and our actions! ⁠
