Most SMMs start posting on Day 1.

But strategy should happen before the first post.

✅Product analysis.
✅Audience segmentation
✅Competitor landscape.
✅Content Funnel alignment.

That’s what actually drives results.

In my live workshop I’ll show freelancers how to pitch strategy to clients and close deals without racing into content.

Strategy and tactics are not the same thing.

Most people use the words interchangeably. Most SMMs build tactics and call them strategy. Most clients can’t tell the difference - until results don’t come.

Strategy = the how behind your goal. Tactics = the daily actions that support it.

Same goal. Different strategy. Completely different actions.

I explained this in 1 minute using a girl named Kate. Watch it.

Then ask yourself: does your client have a strategy - or just a content calendar?

If this landed, my program teaches exactly this. Link in bio.

Content struggles usually start with one simple problem:

The product is not clearly understood.

If you can’t explain the real value of a product,
content becomes random.

That’s why on my mentorship we spend a lot of time breaking the product down:

features
benefits
differences vs competitors
real value for the customer.

Once that becomes clear, strong content becomes much easier to create.

Would you rather manage 5 clients at $800 or 2 clients at $2,000?

The SMM market has an expectation problem.
Businesses hire someone to manage social mediabut expect them to deliver marketing results.
Posting ≠ marketing.
If you want social media to actually drive revenue, strategy has to come first.
DM “DEMO” and I’ll send you a real breakdown of how social media strategy works in a high-ticket niche.

Can you explain WHY in 1 sentence?

11/19/2025

You raise your price in the proposal… and immediately feel like a fraud.Because if a client asks, “What am I paying for?” - you don’t know what to say.🤔

Most SMMs are trying to charge strategic pricesfor what still sounds like a content package:
“15 posts per month, 8 stories, 4 reels, basic reporting.”

⛔️When you think and speak in “posts per week”,there’s nothing in your offer that actually pulls the price up.It’s a to-do list, not a revenue lever.

✅But the moment you can say:
“I diagnose your funnel - who’s finding you, where they drop off, and why they don’t buy. Then I design a content and campaign plan to improve profile visits → website clicks → checkouts.Every month, we review the numbers together and decide where to double down or adjust.”
…your price becomes easy to justify.

💎Because now your client isn’t just paying for posts -they’re paying for a system that moves people closer to buying.
If you keep trying to charge more for the same “15 posts + stories” package, you’ll always feel like you’re pushing your luck.

This is how you quietly kill your SMM career
You tell yourself: ‘It’s just for now. I’ll take this client and later I’ll choose better ones.’
Six clients later… you’re exhausted, underpaid and still don’t have time to find those ‘better ones’.

Saying yes to everyone isn’t ‘being grateful for opportunities’.
It’s a strategy - just a really bad one.
Low-fit clients almost always come with: unrealistic expectations, endless edits, chaotic offers that can’t convert well.
So you end up overworking on projects that were never set up to win.

You’re afraid of having no work.
But right now you already have no growth - just a full calendar and a nervous system on fire.

If you feel stuck saying yes to anyone who pays, I broke down the starting point of client selection math in my free course for SMMs.

After 20+ years building marketing strategies for Samsung, Johnson & Johnson, and scaling e-commerce businesses to seven figures, I've noticed something troubling in the SMM space. Talented social media managers are stuck in a broken paradigm.

They're told social media is about "engagement," "community building," and "brand awareness." And yes, those matter - but many SMMs stop there. They genuinely believe that sales isn't their responsibility, especially in niches where demand can actually be created through content.
They master Canva, perfect their content calendars, and post consistently.
Then their clients ask: "What's the ROI?" And they freeze.

Here's what I've learned: The fundamentals don't change just because the platform does. Social media marketing IS marketing. Engagement is a tool, not the goal. And when you're working in a niche where content can shape demand and drive purchasing decisions, the goal should always be revenue.

The problem isn't that SMMs lack talent. It's that they've been taught to stop at engagement instead of connecting it to sales.

So I'm doing something about it.
I've created a free course for social media managers who want to learn how to drive sales through their work and prove it.
Not more "10 tips to go viral" content or templates - but a framework for connecting social media work directly to business outcomes.

Because when you can confidently show how your work translates to revenue, the conversation with clients changes completely. You're no longer defending your rates or scrambling to prove your value - clients start seeing you as someone who actually moves the business forward.

If you know an SMM who's talented but undervalued, underpaid, or stuck proving their worth - tag them below 👇 or send them the link in my bio.

I'll be sharing more about what actually drives results in social media marketing, the gaps I see in the industry, and how to build systems that connect content to revenue.

Let's elevate this profession together.
