One thing I’m learning in real time as a host?

Proper planning really does beat poor performance. And stress. And overwhelm 😂

I used to feel stressed before every guest arrival because I didn’t have a clear system in place. I was guessing, overbuying, and hoping I didn’t forget anything.

But once I created an inventory system, set par levels, and built a simple restock process, everything started to feel more manageable.

Less scrambling.
Less mental clutter.
More peace of mind.

Feedback used to make me uncomfortable.
But I’ve been thinking lately, and I see it differently now:
Feedback is a gift.
Especially when your heart is in the right place.
If you genuinely want to provide a great experience…
If you want people to speak well of your business…
If you want to keep growing and improving…
Then feedback should be welcomed, not feared.
Feedback gives you insight you may not be able to see on your own.
It shows you where things can be better.
It helps you serve people well.
And it gives you the opportunity to keep raising the standard.
So no, feedback doesn’t always feel comfortable.
But when received the right way, it’s a gift.

When we first got into hosting, I thought it would be a lot more straightforward.

Set up the space, list it, and you’re good to go.
And while that’s part of it… there’s so much more that happens behind the scenes.

The decisions, the prep, the communication, the systems.

It’s not hard in a bad way — it just requires more intention than I expected.
