🤠MEET THE WPC CREW | QUINCY SULLIVAN 🤠

We’re excited to introduce another member of the War Pony Consulting team, Quincy Sullivan🐴

Quincy is our Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable (AR/AP) Specialist, helping keep things organized and running smoothly behind the scenes here at WPC!

When she’s not keeping up with invoices and numbers, you’ll likely find her horseback! Quincy competes in multiple rodeo events, but breakaway roping holds the top spot in her book! 🐎

She’s also no stranger to long days, early mornings, and a whole lot of caffeine — so naturally, she fits right in with the rest of us here at War Pony! ☕😂

Outside of the office, you can catch Quincy at a horse futurity event or spending time out on the ranch in San Angelo.

We love having a team that understands both sides of the desk — the business side and the western way of life. Quincy brings a little bit of both, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her on board!

🚨 BIG 1099 CHANGE FOR 2026: THE $600 RULE JUST CHANGED!

If your business pays independent contractors, this is one update you need to know.

Beginning with payments made in 2026, the federal reporting threshold for Form 1099-NEC increases from $600 to $2,000 for applicable nonemployee compensation.

That means, generally:

💵 Paid a contractor $1,500 during 2026? You typically won’t be required to issue a 1099-NEC based on that payment amount alone.

💵 Paid a contractor $2,000 or more during 2026? It’s time to determine whether a 1099-NEC is required.

BUT—don’t stop collecting those W-9s! 👀

The higher threshold doesn’t mean you should stop collecting W-9s or properly tracking contractor payments. Keeping good records throughout the year makes January a whole lot easier.

Some days, work-life balance looks a little different around here. 🤠💻🐴

Today’s office: the barn aisle while the horses get their feet done.

One of my favorite parts of building War Pony Consulting has been creating a business that fits into our life—not always trying to make our life fit around the business.

The books still need done.
The horses still need shod.
And sometimes… you just do both at the same time. 😂
