This past week, our team came together from near and far for a day of connection, laughter, good conversation, and simply enjoying time with one another.

Well, this headline from Harvard Business Review gave us pause:

“Why Effective Leaders Get Branded as Problems.”

A few takeaways that stuck with us:
▶ Organizations can mistake friction for failure. Sometimes the leaders creating tension are the ones challenging how things have always been done.

▶ We tend to focus on the person because their behavior is easier to see than the culture, incentives, expectations, and systems surrounding them.

▶ When we misdiagnose the problem, we can end up coaching great leaders away from the strengths that made them effective in the first place.
